Shinawatra Government no longer trying to hide its corrupt evil face.

Recently the Prime Minister of Thailand decided to have a meeting with senior cabinet leaders and advisers in order to plan a cabinet reshuffle.

So they flew down to Singapore.

The convicted criminal brother of the PM Taksin Shinawatra cannot return to the country without being arrested so the real power behind the government had to settle with meeting with his pawns in Singapore.

Having invested milllions of dollars to buy a an election on a scale never seen before (in the past rural folks living in Bangkok would get about $ 40 to return to their upcountry homes to vote. This time they were given $ 200 and a plane ticket).

So they are trying to figure out how to get their investment back. There are many ways, including trying to get the $ 100 million that the government seized in illegal assets. But they will have to get some from the operation of the government and a reshuffling is necessary to get rid of some coalition membes that are not producing their quota.

So who is entering the cabinet?

Well the most remarkable is Nalinee Taveesin

Like the Prime Minister this wholesome looking debutante looks like she should be in Good Housekeeping.

Graduate from Harvard.

What could go wrong.

Ms. Taveesin has been found by the US Government to be one of 4 key individuals who was a bagman of President Mugabe of Zimbabwe who drove his country into hunger and failure while he became wealthy personally. Next to Ghaddafi he was one of the most hated pariah's of the world, so disliked that even the Russian and Chinese would not let their gangs get involved.

So Mugabe needed a few bagmen or bagwomen to transport assets from Zimbabwe and convert them to cash. Enter Nalinee who would become one of only 4 people blacklisted by the Bush administration for corrupt practices.

The Shinawatra Government has said that since she hasn't been caught doing anything in Thailand then she can join the cabinet.

Taksin has been living in Cambodia, and former Yugoslavia countries under a number of passports since he lost his Thai passport as a felon on the run. He has had a small cadre of helpers going to various countries buying passports and temporary refuge. Now we know who atleast one of them was.

The US OFAC designated in the SDN list Nalinee Joy Taveesin, then an ordinary Thai businesswoman, for her facilitation of a number of financial, real-estate and gems-related transactions on behalf of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's wife Grace Mugabe and other Zimbabweans on the SDN list.

"Ironically, Nalinee Taveesin has participated in a number of initiatives on corruption and growth challenges in Africa and Southeast Asia while secretly supporting the kleptocratic practices of one of Africa's most corrupt regimes," according to a OFAC statement issued on November 25, 2008.

As a consequence, American citizens or entities were prohibited from doing business with her, while her assets, if they went through a US jurisdiction, would be frozen.

Zimbabwe was sanctioned by the US in 2003 for its undemocratic practices.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - A newly appointed minister in the Thai premier's office is blacklisted by the U.S. Treasury for alleged business links to the family of Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe, embarrassing the government in the wake of a major cabinet reshuffle.

Nalinee Taveesin is barred from financial dealings with U.S. citizens and had her assets frozen in the country in 2008 for "secretly supporting the kleptocratic practices of one of Africa's most corrupt regimes," according to the website of the Department of Treasury (www.treasury.gov).

Nalinee, most recently the country's trade representative, allegedly helped Mugabe's wife, Grace, trade in gemstones, real estate and financial transactions, the U.S. Treasury said.

Nalinee's ministerial appointment on Wednesday by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra was one of 10 changes, which critics said reflected cronyism and nepotism, with many allies of self-exiled former premier Thaksin Shinawatra -- Yingluck's elder brother -- taking cabinet posts
