In America, Santa pronounces yoisho as yowee-shit, as in "Yowee-shit, I strained my back lifting this huge bag of gifts!"

It used to be that Westerners could celebrate Christmas a couple of days earlier, on December 23, in conjunction with the then-emperor's birthday. But now that there's a new emperor, the December 23 holiday has been moved to his birthday, February 23.
