Biden said Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders speaks with a genuine voice on income inequality and defended his stance on gun control.
The Vice President, who decided not to run for president months after his son Beau's death, told CNN Monday night the Vermont Senator speaks to “a yearning that is deep and real” on issues of wealth disparity and people left out of the economy.
While Sanders has credibility, Hillary Clinton has come to the topic relatively recently, he said. And he defended Sanders who has been taking hits from Clinton over his 2005 vote against holding weapons manufacturers liable for gun violence. “Bernie Sanders has said that he thought the president's approach is the correct approach. Bernie Sanders said that he thinks there should be liability now,” Biden said.
