Sun Times Network: Bernie Sanders is trolling Hillary Clinton in an amazing way

http://spectrum.suntimes.com/news/10/155/9917/bernie-sanders-trolling-hillary-clinton-amazing-way

As the New York Times reported, Clinton’s lead “has largely melted away,” with primary voters under the age of 45 favoring Sanders by about a 2-to-1 ratio. And so goes the Sanders campaign. On Wednesday, the Twitter account run by the Vermont senator’s campaign posted a photo of the two contenders, with a hand-written note from Clinton penned at the bottom. “To Bernie Sanders with thanks for your commitment to real health care access for all Americans and best wishes,” the note reads. It is signed by Clinton and dated 1993.

Now, how exactly do these two democratic presidential contestants match up regarding health care in 2016, especially with access to health care for LGBT folks?

On Clinton’s website, she is a staunch supporter of the Affordable Care Act, stating she wants to expand health care coverage and prescription drug costs. She vows to deliver greater health care access to rural Americans and ensuring continued coverage for reproductive health. Not a surprise, considering her recent endorsement by Planned Parenthood. She doesn’t say much about LGBT-focused health issues. Under her LGBT Equality section, Clinton does say she wants to “secure affordable treatment for people living with HIV and AIDS.” She aims to do that by extending Medicaid coverage for people living with HIV and by increasing access to HIV-prevention medicine, such as PrEP.

Sanders, for his part, also talks about the importance of lower prescription drug costs. He is less specific in other areas of health care access. Sanders does promise to work with the Department of Health and Human Services “to ensure LGBT Americans have access to comprehensive health insurance.” He also says he doesn’t want LGBT Americans to “fear discrimination or mistreatment from providers.”

In language alone, Sanders’ camp seems to be more focused on the health care needs of transgender Americans, even if he doesn’t name those needs specifically.

Universal health care allowed us to drop the medical riders on our auto and homeowners insurance.

You know where all that "extra" money not going for non material services would go. I am just thinking out loud here. Millions of people not paying for the insurance on their homeowners and their cars plus not paying deductibles at the hospitals and clinics, plus saving on insurance. Sounds like a brazillion dollars could go into the economy nearly overnight.
