https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/01/18/hillary-clinton-just-seized-the-political-moment-on-flint/CLINTON: I spent a lot of time last week being outraged by what's happening in Flint, Michigan, and I think every single American should be outraged. We've had a city in the United States of America where the population which is poor in many ways and majority African American has been drinking and bathing in lead-contaminated water. And the governor of that state acted as though he didn't really care.
He had a request for help and he had basically stone walled. I'll tell you what, if the kids in a rich suburb of Detroit had been drinking contaminated water and being bathed in it, there would've been action.
So I sent my top campaign aide down there to talk to the mayor of Flint to see what I could to help. I issued a statement about what we needed to do and then I went on a TV show and I said, "It was outrageous that the governor hadn't acted, and within two hours he had."

(581 posts)bottle water or filters as of Monday. It is also reported that the State of Michigan and the EPA knew in April,2015 that the river was full of lead and they did NOTHING. They covered it up with th Governor. But finally the Virginia Tech tested the water and announced there finding of how bad the lead was in the water. This is a serious cover up by the Republicans. A crisis for the kids that have been drinking the water. Why did Governor Snyder decide to cover up this serious crisis? Why don't the Republicans care about life. They do everything to the American people to prevent good health, including trying to ban the Health care of over 18 million people. The Republican party does not care about human life. Ah, yes, they do care about the unborn, but just wait until your born. Then you may be a target for them.
Several people should be charged and tried for this CRIME.

(14,177 posts)I am glad she has done at least as much as she has. I am glad Bernie is calling for the governor to resign. I think all three of our candidates are calling for an independent investigation, I might be wrong about that it is what I heard though.
