Trump Says He Will Force Apple to Manufacture in the US Even Though That Makes Absolutely No Sense

I have only one question, Is this mo'fo' for real?

GOP candidate and angry sweet potato Donald Trump claims he’ll be able to change Apple’s entire manufacturing system if he is elected president. I’ll give Trump this: He’s great at shouting impossible nonsense.

Trump’s remarks on outsourcing at Liberty University today were especially bizarre and unanchored to reality.

(snip)

First, in the span of a few sentences, he insisted that he’d impose a 35 percent tax on businesses producing goods overseas while claiming to support free trade. At the end of his rambling, decidedly non-MLK-themed speech, he said this:

“We’re going to get Apple to build their damn computers in this country instead of other countries.”

Well, that flies in the face of free market "globalization," just a fancy term for off-shoring. nt TheBlackAdder Jan 2016 #9

I've had a cell phone since way back when. Necessary as a tool for work and I'm here to tell you I recently bought an Iphone and it is by far the best phone I've ever had. Easiest to use, to set up, sounds the best, works awesome. I just had a bad experience with a samsung galaxy5 that put a sour taste in my mouth.

the I phone cost less that the galaxy5 did to boot.

If I could get AutoCad to work on an apple computer I'm sure my next computer would be an apple. I now use Ubuntu and have for years and run AutoCad using Wine. My health won't allow me to do much after I design something on AutoCad so it is becoming less and less of importance to me so I might be doing an Apple anyway.

So even if I didn't have a low opinion of their products I still can't switch. I develop on Android for a living so that too is a non-starter for me. Considering I would have to buy a mac and pay Apple a huge fee I have no interest in developing for iOs.

Why doesn't he do this for all of the industries? So many questions...which can all be answered by realizing Trump will say anything, and then deny/weasel at every turn. He has mastered the "non-answer" quite well. I noticed when he is taking questions, he will start an answer, then interrupt himself- repeatedly, and never really say a thing.

But is terrible on explaining how he is going to make it happen. What we in the computer biz call "vaporware".
