Clinton Calls on Sanders to Join Democratic Debate

http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/clinton-calls-sanders-join-democratic-debate-n505251

Hillary Clinton called on Bernie Sanders to join a proposed Democratic debate next week in New Hampshire, telling MSNBC's Chris Matthews that she is "anxious" to make the debate happen.

"I'm ready for the debate, and I hope Sen. Sanders will change his mind and join us," she said in the interview, which will air on "Hardball" Wednesday night. "I think the DNC and the campaigns should be able to work this out. I've been for, you know, for a long time, that I'd be happy to have more debates, and I hope we can get this done."...

Clinton and Martin O'Malley, the third candidate in the race, quickly said they would be open to joining, but Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said his candidate was not interested in an unsanctioned debate....

The DNC sanctioned six debates and has drawn a hard line against adding any more to the schedule. And the committee has vowed to enforce an exclusivity clause, which would bar candidates from joining future sanctioned debates if they participate in an unsanctioned debate.

So the rules don't apply to Hillary?!

Smart.

Instead, he is calling for sanctioned debates in states where he is not the front runner.

If Hillary wants debates, she can agree.

Trying to pressure Sanders.

What a joke.

I would ignore all of it. Let them talk smack. Just ignore them.

If the Democratic party wants to officially sanction this NH debate, in writing--then Sanders should move forward.

He shouldn't allow Clinton's bullying and manipulations though the media to move him one iota.

So sick of Clinton's malarkey.

In her mind, there are no rules, agreements or laws that apply to her.

I wonder if Bernie is being set up - so when he honors his agreement with the DNC and declines, they call him out for ducking her. Wouldn't surprise me.

When Clinton was sure she had a lock on it, six debates were plenty, and there would be no loose talk of more. Now comes a little curve. This is fine for Clinton, because she can have it either way if he hero opponents join her in this "rogue" debate. If she comes out of it wanting more debates, she will have the DNC retroactively approve the debate, or create some kind of loophole. If she wants to shut down the whole thing, she will have the DNC declare the debate "illegal" and ban all the candidates from the remaining debates. Heads I win, tails you lose.

Bernie (well, his supporters more so than him) wanted more debates and everybody cheered.

Hillary asks Bernie to join a new debate (which I believe he once gave tentative approval to attend) and she is castigated for it.

People need to make up their minds. The more debates we have, the better and more informed we are. It should not matter who wants more debates or why more debates are wanted. It is hypocritical for anyone who called for more debates in the past to suddenly be against them now.

The general public does not give a damn if the DLC officially endorse a debate or not. As far as they are concerned, if everybody attends and it's on television (NBC or MSNBC), then it is a debate. Sanctioned or unsanctioned is meaningless when all three attend.

Any opportunity for a public, televised debate should be seized upon even if only to counter the Repub noise machine for a day. Anybody who objects to more debates now after wanting them in the past is a hypocrite pure and simple. And anyone who did not want more debates in the past but now wants more of them is a hypocrite as well.

Sanctioned, unsanctioned, yes, no, whatever.

Of course, if DWS sanctions the debate, there's no problem for anyone.

But that would be obvious and easy. Clinton could make a phone call and fix the entire situation if she was being sincere. But nah, let's pretend instead!

Does she think anyone buys this bullshit?

I don't think I have ever in my life so earnestly wished for a Democratic politician to just go away forever. She's a corrosive influence on our party and liberalism in general.

Why?

Personally I'd tell the lot if them to fuck off but I'm not a politician.

O'Malley and Sanders were practically begging for more debates DWS gave them both an ass cheek to kiss.

Only problem I see with the "fuck off" solution is if O'Malley and Hill have a tea party without Sanders giving his opinions.

DWS needs to find another job.
