so I would suggest that Bernie supporters take a good look in the mirror as well, since those of us cannot ask you what your campaign refuses to, and ask Bernie supporters to be respectful.

Also, it's not just Hillary supporters that are subject to this abuse, pretty much anyone who does not seem to support Bernie in every post has been attacked, blocked and abusively alerted on, and posts hidden not due to any violations but the piling on phenomenon.

it would be very difficult for any Democratic president to accomplish much.

It is ironic they talk about respect. I have seen a lot of threads from some so-called Sanders' supporters calling Hillary every name in the book, from a "war criminal", to the "c-word", and then others defending the use of such garbage.

and more than one time I have seen some of these so-called Sanders' supporters utilizing extreme right wing sources to attack Hillary.

Yeah, tunnel vision is a wonderful thing

there are not mobs of hillary supporters trolling, abusing and harassing journalists and organizations for supporting Bernie, not even when they attack Hillary. No one bringing up their kids, or sending them hate mail or using right wing talking points and concocting conspiracy theories.

Sanders supporters are doing these things and as we have been saying for some time now, this is hurting your candidate, to a degree that you don't seem to understand. They finally figured it out, but they seem to have no control over you guys, as this post illustrates.

"there are not mobs of hillary supporters trolling, abusing and harassing journalists and organizations for supporting Bernie, not even when they attack Hillary"

Which journalists and organizations support Bernie and get a lot of media attention for it? I don't watch TV, so I would like to know which journalists are supporting Bernie other than The Nation Magazines.

Which journalists and organizations are attacking Hillary? Again, I don't know much about this. Please advise.

"No one bringing up their kids,"

Chelsea brought herself up by making comments about Bernie's plan to introduce single payer insurance. Also, people noted that the free tuition at state universities would not have been appreciated or needed by Chelsea since paying for her college education was no problem for the Clintons. Those are the only references to Chelsea that I know of, and they are justified especially since she introduced herself into the campaign by speaking up for Hilalry and criticizing Bernie's stance on health insurance.

"or sending them hate mail" or

I suspect that both candidates have received hate mail. There just are crazy people out there who do that sort of thing. Personally, I haven't sent any mail to either of them. But if you are a public figure, you will probably get hate mail these days. It's a shame, very sad, but part of being out there. Hillary has Secret Service body guards. Bernie does not as far as I know.

"using right wing talking points and concocting conspiracy theories."

Now there is where the Hillary fans excel. I have never seen anything like the right wing talking points and conspiracy theories that are baseless but raised at every opportunity against Bernie. Not so much against Hillary. The allegations that the DNC, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Cuomo and many others try to tilt everything from debate questions to interview answers in favor of Hillary and use conspiracy theories and every dirty trick in the book to do it is simply true. It's just too obvious to even question that that is being done by the Hillary fans.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

so the poster pretty much insults all Hillary supporters, this is a violation of the TOS and it's pretty blatant. i'm a sanders supporter, but i don't have any desire to alter my behavior or my opinions just because a sanders spokesman proffered the suggestion. life sucks for a lot of people right now, and i don't have it in me to temper my disdain or my disgust with anyone or anything that perpetuates the misery. the only reason i don't always let my true feelings be known here is because this forum has rules.

besides, it's sanders' job as a politician to play nice, it's not my job. so fuck off thought police. that goes for both sides.

They have one thing in common. An almost fanatical obsession with the concept of "loyalty". I don't know if you have ever been to Europe but it's like what you see in monarchies where they assign their royalty to the divine and value their own role as loyal subjects. They accuse all those who speak against their leaders as if they are not only guilty of treason but blasphemy.

Most are current die hard Obama fans that were likely Hillary fans in '08 and they will be DAMNED if she loses again.

One demographic trait in this primary is, the younger you go, the more enthusiasm you have for Sanders. Even Millenial women are for Sanders 2-1.

And given young people are more likely to be familiar with and use social media, it kind of follows you're going to have Sanders swarms all over the place online.

Clinton's strength is with the 50+ crowd. They're not Twitter folk.

I do not read facebook memes, I do not twit, I do not post my every waking thought to the world. Hell, I'm on DU 11 years, and I have less posts than some posters have garnered in the past six months.

The only thing that attaches me to Millennials is the fact most of my friends are in their 20s (my boyfriend is 23, also I need to rethink my social circles) and I read Reddit daily.

But yeah, online, the vast, vast, vast majority of social media posts are coming from people who are probably ten years younger than us on average.

So when people complain about the Sanders online presence, it's kind of a duh thing. Of course it's that way.
