Long, detailed diary. Love how hill tried to keep this under the radar by omitting it from her official schedule.
NOTE: I originally posted the diary, below, on January 18. The diary highlights a deep-pocket fundraiser Hillary Clinton held this evening (January 27) in Philadelphia with a group of wealthy individuals who run a firm called Franklin Square Capital Partners. As I detailed in the diary, Franklin Square is facing federal scrutiny for its practice of selling illiquid, under-performing, high-risk (but highly profitable) business development company (BDC) funds to small-ticket investors.
Cut it out" just wont cut it when it comes to regulating segments of the financial and investment communities.
Bernie Sanders criticism of Hillary Clintons high-paying speeches to Goldman Sachs makes a valid point:
How does someone taking large sums of money from employees of some of the most powerful Wall Street firms, and, in the case of paid speeches, from the firms, themselves, provide an unbiased view of regulatory oversight of these firms?
Its a fair question.
Today comes a story from the Philadelphia Inquirer detailing a big-ticket fundraiser for Hillary Clinton scheduled for January 27, just days before the February 1 Iowa caucus, hosted by Philadelphia investment firm Franklin Square Capital Partners and its chief executive, Michael Forman:

'X' number of people at the fundraiser at between $1,000 to $2,700 a pop...with Bon Jovi entertaining (!)...good bankroll enhancement...
HRC does need to discipline her assistant who keeps track of all the events she is scheduling...the fundraiser was accidentally left off her public schedule...could have made it look like she was trying to hide something...

(12,647 posts)Wouldn't hesitate to steal everything the 50 black pastors and their congregations own. Did you read the part where the firm is under regulatory scrutiny because they're selling shit sandwiches to the American public?

(814 posts)made a point i never even thought of. if it's ultimately trump vs. clinton, then trump will be able to pull a bernie and use the funding source issue against her since he's funding his own campaign. it's a technicality of course, because how he got his money is probably a pretty sordid tale, but still, ugh! repugs lack the intelligence to see the distinction.
