Sanders conveniently omits that Hillary meets with African American Leaders in Phillly

Oh yes, Bernie Sanders last night was mud-slinging --told his rally that he would rather be here in Iowa than what Hillary was doing -fund raising in Philadelphia. But Sanders did not tell his rally the whole truth and left out that Hillary was also meeting with Afro-American Leaders. It is dishonest of Sanders to do this. How can we trust him to tell us the Truth?? But most of headlines tell the truth!

BTW--msnbc played a clip of Sanders on stage mud-slinging-where he ragged on about Hillary's trip to Philly and her fundraising stop where he omitted the fact that Hillary also met with Afro-American leaders and was in Iowa earlier in the day.

She did fund raise in Philly. That's a fact. That's what Sandrs was commenting on. Nothing more.

The fact that she had other things planned is irrelevant to the discussion.

Of course, because Hillary Clinton is a manipulative scum bag, she will turn this into an attack on her meeting with African Americans.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will visit Philadelphia on Jan. 27 for a fund-raiser hosted by a group that includes lawyer-turned-investment mogul Michael C. Forman and former State Rep. Michael Gerber (D., Mont.) at their $17 billion "alternative investments" firm, Franklin Square Capital Partners.

Rocker Jon Bon Jovi will play an acoustic set for donors - including "friends," who give at least $1,000; "family," couples and kids, who get their photos snapped with the candidate for $2,700 (that's also the limit donors may give to each of the primary and general elections); and "hosts," who bundle $27,000 in contributions.
http://articles.philly.com/2016-01-18/news/69844264_1_clinton-gala-bill-clinton-hillary-clinton

The PA primary by the by is 3 months away, April 26th. It's almost like you emphasize that which favors your candidate and your rivals do the same for their candidate, which really is how politics works.

Did you attend the Bon Jovi concert yourself? I ask because I'm wondering how many people from that first event were at the Bon Jovi bash? It almost has that 'Two Americas' feel to it, not a big event for Hillary but one event for one set of people and a very separate event for the Bon Jovi sort.

Clinton's campaign did not include the Philadelphia fund-raiser on its public schedule, but news outlets reported the event last week.

The meeting with the Black ministers at Mother Bethel Church wasn't on her campaign schedule (in fact it still isn't). And it wasn't listed on the church's schedule or the Richard Allen Museum schedule.

It couldn't be because another Wall Street fundraiser got sniffed out and canceled at the last minute
http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/attytood/Yay-Hillary-loves-Philadelphiamoney.html#MDeMZUPvm8Pg2fIt.99
At the last minute, HRC postponed a second fundraiser that was to be hosted by Wall Street big shots in New York City.

Looks like she tried to slip away to line her pockets with Wall Street dough, had to cancel New York when it looked bad after reporters caught a sniff of Bon Jovi serenading the cash coming out of their wallets at the fundraiser, so they tacked on the church visit to try to cover their tracks.

But of course, this behavior is all "dishonest" Bernie's fault and what she was really doing was zipping in to have an impromptu meeting with black leaders and it just so happened that Bon Jovi and the Wall Street crowd were having a party that she crashed and they threw wads of cash at her.

Thu Jan 28, 2016, 10:28 AM

It's a fine thing for Hillary to meet with her African American supporters in Philly (and any non-supporters too for that matter). It would have made sense for her to schedule something like that after Monday, when she will be based on the East Coast and not in the closing days of a tight contest that could set the tone for the races that follow.

This is where Hillary campaign starts seeming less than fully genuine. When first I heard heard she was leaving Iowa to attend some East Coast fundraisers I heard one of her spokespersons handle the topic rather well. He stressed these were long standing engagements she was honoring - not something whipped up because she suddenly needed cash. He said Clinton always planned to be prepared for the possible costs of a hard campaign and fund raising was ongoing etc. He followed that up by stressing how much time Hillary was still spending in Iowa prior to the caucus, all the events she had etc. That seemed like a good response to me.

I still don't think it reflects well on the Clinton campaign to do a fund raiser with a major financial institution on the eve of the Iowa caucus - it is really bad political messaging and it is foolish to think the Sanders campaign would not make note of it to Iowans in Iowa. But the comments I heard from her spokesperson were not slippery - they dealt with this issue head on and put a cap on down side speculation that Hillary was desperate for money to do this etc.

Why wouldn't Hillary also meet with base supporters while she was out there in Philly anyway looking for big checks? That isn't the point and everyone knows it. There was only one reason why Hillary left Iowa when she did and that was for a major fund raiser. Period. To try to blur that perception is just foolish.

It's his handlers who are pushing him beyond the principled boundaries he had set for himself.

From the minute he jumped into the race, he knew he had no chance of beating Hillary, but he felt compelled to get out an urgent, important message about where America was headed. He likely wanted to build on his idea behind the supposed Obama primary challenge in 2012.

To Bernie's surprise, his 2016 campaign message caught fire and generated the wide spread support we see today.

By the time Bernie realized he was in way over his head, campaign fatigue had taken its toll. The "messenger" had unwittingly evolved into the vehicle for "the revolution". It was evident to those close to Bernie that he was already shouldering to much of a load as leader of the movement and he couldn't possibly oversee everything going on around him. That's usually when the staffers with hidden agendas become more involved. The revolution must not be stalled.

IMO, it was behind the scenes manipulation by ultra lefties who likely launched this recent transformation of his campaign.
