The girl is wearing a ring that they recognized as Mormon, and the County Clerk is a local Mormon bishop. They think this girl is in his ward.

(22,654 posts)Wayne Williams was elected El Paso County Clerk & Recorder in 2010 with 68% of the vote. Wayne previously served as special legal counsel for the Clerk & Recorders Office and as a member of the El Paso County Election Canvass Board. He is a graduate of the Clerk & Recorders Citizens' Academy.
As Clerk, Wayne Williams strives to work with the staff to provide excellent customer service in Motor Vehicle, Recording, Elections, and Clerk to the Board. In Elections, Wayne is committed to fair and accurate processes. He has testified before the legislature on election reform and continues to work to reform our election processes by requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote and photo identification in order to vote.
Prior to and, in many cases, after his election, Wayne served in various positions within the community, including Chairman of the Colorado Springs Housing Authority, Boy Scout Troop Committee Chairman, and member of the Board of Directors of the Pikes Peak Community Action Agency. He is an active member of the Chapel Hills Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he currently serves in the Bishopric.
Politically, Wayne Williams is a past Chairman of the El Paso County Republican Party, where he oversaw the caucus and assembly election process for the Countys largest political party. For more than a decade he has played an active role in crafting bylaws to ensure fair elections.

(24,411 posts)...it is apparent that this is how Republicans expect to win.
Look at all of the garbage they are engaged in. It's epidemic!
I watched Dick Morris explain why every single poll is WRONG and that Romney is really leading in Florida and down by only one point in Ohio. He explained it during a lie-based, bullshit session on Fox last night.
They also said on Fox after Morris explained---"See, the polls are wrong and when Romney wins, the Democrats will all suggest that this was voter fraud and election fraud."
Who knows what else they have planned! This is getting really serious.
Those machines can flip votes. Between electronic vote flipping and all of these suppression efforts--Republicans could gain ten points in ANY state that they wanted.
I think this is how they intend to win!

(22,000 posts)We have at least one DU member in Colorado Springs checking stores on a regular basis.
If anyone else wants to volunteer, please send me a note and I'll put you in touch with him. If we got half a dozen or a dozen people involved it would be nice.

(53,061 posts)both Republicans and Democrats.
If the person says they only register Republicans after you have handed them the registration form you now have real evidence of the intent to commit a crime.
If a person asks questions before they hand you the registration form, and decline to register you no crime has been committed.
Obviously they should go in pairs with one person recording surreptitiously.

(22,000 posts)repeatedly over and over again with people that would be enough. But two witnesses would be better. Then after they get the goods go up and tell the person they are busted and watch them shit their pants. I think I'd want a video of that part too just to get a good laugh. If I was there I would say "I hope you enjoy prison".

(24,411 posts)I think everyone should be armed with a cell-phone/camera when they go to the grocery store, and they should be
watching for this.
If I saw someone doing voter registrations at my local grocery store, I would be on this!
And I would be sly about it. I would ask innocent questions and then I would bring back friends and have them
document what happens when you say you're a Dem vs. when you say you're a Rep. Then, I would give them
shots to local media..
This cannot be tolerated.
The Republican party is engaging in widespread voter suppression, intimidation and other crimes. This is a concerted
effort. No doubt about it.
I just posted on another thread about www.truethevote.org Please take a look and be informed. truethevote is a TEA PARTY activist site where tea partiers can sign up to volunteer for such activities as: Combing the voter rolls and unearthing (what they determine as) questionable voters. Tea partiers can also sign up to be poll watchers, on election day!
This really is sick and disgusting! Between all of the Voter ID laws that the Republican state legislatures passed--and all of these other nefarious activities--this is totally how they plan to try and steal the election.
They could pull it off!!

(24,411 posts)"What makes this interesting is that she said she was being paid by the county clerk. The county clerk, Wayne Willaims, is a Mormon, the former head of the local county GOP and an activist in crafting election laws of the type being legislated around the country in GOP state houses (and challenged), ones designed to assist in a Romney November victory."
I saw the video of that girl. Why would she have said that she was working for "the county clerk" if she wasn't??? An 18-year old doesn't just come up with that name out of thin air--and then have it be a mistake.
That's who she was working for. This is illegal.
This really needs to go farther than it has. Where is that girl? Calling all journalists who have basic reporting skills! This girl and the people who sent her out to do this--need to be outted, and the story needs to be blasted.

(10,572 posts)CTR Rings - they are given to 8 year olds at baptism, the CTR stands for "Choose The Right." In the mid 80s it became fashionable to wear them as teenagers and a whole market sprung up around them. (The one in the picture is not made by the church, but rather a business making money. The one kids get when they are baptized are copper, cheep and have a green shield).
