This is from someone's great post on Daily Kos. It explains why African Americans need to hear about Bernie Sanders, and how, if they heard about his history and his agenda, they would vote for him.

It also discusses the role of the media in marginalizing him and trying to alienate African American voters.

Clinton surrogates have been pounding at Bernie’s supposed lack of ability to connect since day one. I think everyone now knows Vermont is exactly 98% white and never mind that Brooklyn accent.

It’s clearly driven by the fear of Bernie’s background: marching with MLK, organizing with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, arrested for protesting segregated housing in Chicago, helping Jesse Jackson to win Vermont.
