2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe latest polls in Iowa are a win win for Bernie
Hillary is expected to win now and if;
A) she does pull it off then no bump for her & if the polls are right and it is with in 5 points then the press will spin it as a close race (which will be in their best interest because they always like a horse race) this is a win for Bernie.
B) Bernie ties then this is an win for Bernie who was the "underdog"
C) Bernie wins out right this becomes a Big Win for Bernie
In all cases Hillary has burned through through a ton of her funds in Iowa at the same time with the heighten press coverage Bernie now has over three million donations and almost all of those doners can keep on giving while many of Hillary's backers have hit the limit. All in all Iowa has been good to Bernie.

(53,032 posts)Not cable-news level spin. There is actual math that matters. Bernie can't win just because you and your friends say so. He has to earn a number of delegates sufficient to carry the nomination. The same goes for Clinton. The stories you tell yourself are entirely inconsequential to any of that.
It is unfortunate that the notion of politics as entertainment has become so pervasive. The showman-like spinning of election results may garner ratings, and with them corporate profits, but it is ultimately vacuous. Voters determine this election. Not the cable TV networks or persons more concerned with spectacle than results.
It is interesting to see people who claim to oppose corporate, MSM media so enamored of its capacity to spin and distort.

(4,205 posts)Is a win for Bernie, I do not think it will be that close for her.. He has already beat her in almost every way imaginable, just count the votes Mon. to get that part out of the way...
