This race is still too tight. Here is what we all can do now:

call 5 friends or more if you can who are Obama supporters. Find out if they intend to vote and if there are any impediments to them voting. If there are impediments...transportation, they are going to be out of town, registration or ID problems...offer to help them solve the problem. Offer to drive them if you can, help them get an absentee ballot, help them with registration issues. Do all of this now while there is still time. Then, CALL THEM ON ELECTION DAY to remind them.

Believe me, this is very important and makes a huge difference in turnout. Many people think that their vote won't really matter and people don't really care if they vote or not. Let your friends and relatives know that you care enough to help them and that you will be checking back in with them on election day.

I know that this may sound like a small thing but it will make a huge difference. This is, in essence, the end game of the ground game.

None of that's an issue where I'm from and won't matter anyway. I'm in Idaho. brewens Sep 2012 #1
It's different here. We don't 'get out the vote' we 'get in the ballots' Bluenorthwest Sep 2012 #2

I will be voting for Obama and Jimmy Farris for The House. I don't think he has a chance against Labrador but I hope so. He's also an ex NFL player that played a decade or so after I did at our high school.

No one needs to drive to vote, nor line up. No ID problems either. We don't make calls to remind people that election day is coming, we call them to remind them to return their ballots, and let them know that when they do, we stop calling them....
In 2010 we set records for ballots returned. We will again this year...

People often need reminders just because life is so chock full of excitement. It is great that once they return the ballot they are taken off the call list, this is a huge motivation to get that ballot done!
