2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhy Hillary going to Flint is good thing- from a Bernie supporter
Because it will put the spotlight on Flint in a positive and urgent way. And anyone horrified by this austerity/greed created tragedy, should consider that. I don't care if Hillary gets good press or what her motives are. I care about help and justice for the people of Flint, particularly, the kids.

(4,734 posts)I stood outside to see her speak for two hours in '08 at Mercyhurst College in Erie Pa, along with hundreds of working single Moms who drug their kids with them in - 5 weather with howling winds.
I cheered her until I was hoarse.
Sad to see how it all turned out.

(11,506 posts)The problem in Flint needs all the attention it can get. People responsible for what happened need to be put on trial and let the people decide their fate.

(146,643 posts)Flint needs all the help it can get. It's like a lot of forgotten places, full of forgotten people. Shining a light on that is important.

(39,961 posts)The people of Flint deserve all the attention they can get, and frankly, if nobody goes to jail over this situation, it will be a very dark day for justice in this country.

(3,041 posts)It helps put attention on the bad actors in MI and it makes her look bad for politicizing a tragedy, which could make the situation worse. (I don't want to see the situation get worse, so I guess it may end up being win-win-lose.)

(11,506 posts)The mayor invited her, and don't you think that if Bernie had been invited he too would have gone?
honeylady
(157 posts)for going to Flint and I know its not just a PR stunt. She has been genuinely outraged and very upset over this.
I wish we could stop the fucking bickering.

(11,506 posts)Not one person here is going to change their vote, and all the fighting and name calling is only making things worse come the general election. When one candidate does something good we should all applaud them, not rip them apart.
