Apparently, This has been completely blown out of proportion.
Here's the story:.
The DNC totally screwed up and did not provide Spanish speaking translators. (Thanks Debbie!) Delores Huerta began to translate which was alarming to those on the Bernie side who only knew that it was a Hillary supporter providing all the translations and they wanted an impartial arbiter.
There is a video, which was seen by many, but was suddenly taken down. According to those who saw it, there were no "chants", but rather a barely audible protest of what was happening.
Update: Here's a link to the video: http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511289127 You be the judge.

(1,545 posts)The DNC does not run the Nevada caucus.
Do you people have any actual knowledge about how politics works?

(9,704 posts)perhaps you could explain who does provide translators if not the DNC.

lest we paint with an extremely broad brush...
I think we should focus on the more salient aspect of OP...
namely, the Bernie supporter was not chanting "English Only", but was asking for an impartial translator...
file this whole "English Only" episode in the media chum bucket... another pathetic attempt to disparage a man who is running a fairly ennobling campaign with cherry-picked character assassinations of his supporters

(643 posts)If I read this properly, there was no unbiased translator there, right? Regardless of who was responsible for getting that done. And a Clinton supporter went up and began to translate? And people, concerned with the potential for bias, were not happy about this? Well yeah, I'd be less than thrilled about that too. If it turns out that there was true malice from any Sanders supporters then of course I denounce those actions, as we all know that Bernie would as well. He's always fought for honesty and equality.

(8,171 posts)The fellow that was running the caucus said that the first person to come up to the stage could translate, so I went up. Nobody else did, she said. Then the Bernie people started yelling no, no, no. One of their people came up, and I suggested we both translate. But the moderator decided we would have no translation. So the Bernie people preferred we would have no translation just because I was going to do the translating. Its ridiculous, because if I had said something that wasnt accurate, Im sure somebody would have corrected me.

(700 posts)Bernie supporters do something allegedly bad and there's every excuse in the book as to why the story is not as it seems. But gosh forbid Hillary supporter's say something off kilter and Bernie supporters rush to judgment that, of course, bad for Hillary is true.
What kind of robotic-inducing hallucinogens are in that Bernie and Jerry's ice cream you walkers are eating???

(4,205 posts)The only thing that was being loudly yelled was "neutral" nothing more than that and it was not any sort of a chant is was a couple of people yelling "neutral" that is all they wanted someone that was not tied to either campaign to translate...
