Made in America - yeah!

Hurrah we are going to be manufacturing again and exporting - penalties for those companies which send jobs overseas.

President Barack Obama called Wednesday for tax cuts for American manufacturers and higher taxes for companies that move overseas, pressing what he hopes will be a winning campaign issue.
Appearing at a Milwaukee padlock plant, Obama said the U.S. must do everything it can to make it more attractive for American businesses to stay put and grow here home, "and the place to start is our tax code."
The president visited Master Lock, a manufacturer that has brought jobs back to the United States. Reprising ideas from his State of the Union address, he asked Congress to approve tax system changes right away, including a minimum tax on multinational companies, so that American firms can't skirt taxes by moving jobs and profits overseas. He also pushed for tax breaks for businesses that move into communities that have been hurt by factories leaving town.

Obama = for the people

GOP = against the people

I do have to say, I've generally thought Obama is taking a wise approach on "China Policy." ellisonz Feb 2012 #1

This might sound silly, but perhaps we should have a law that requires Chinese manufacturers to print "Made in Communist China" on everything they import here. Or maybe (to show we aren't singling out a particular nation) retailers should be required to place big bright stickers that announce any foreign products "made by Communist labor." How can a democratic nation continue to openly support and enable a communist regime?

Isn't the real problem with China, our own failure to buy American made products? Shame on us and shame on retailers, who do not give us a choice.

We put a "dump here" sign on our door over the last 30 years. The extreme price advantage gained by utilizing near slave labor in totalitarian countries isn't balanced by a proper entry fee at our borders (as it used to be).

So... they dump.
