2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI'm voting for Bernie in the primary. But Hillary gets my vote if she gets the nomination
The Michigan primary is coming up and I'll be voting for Bernie. I think he's the leader America needs right now. I stopped drinking the DLC Kool-aid a long time ago. And as I have gotten older, I've moved farther and farther to the left.
But I'm voting for Bernie knowing that he's still the underdog in this race. So, I've thought a lot about what I'll do if Hillary wins the nomination. I've concluded that the only sane thing to do would be to vote for Hillary and persuade, to the best of my ability, others to do the same.
We simply cannot allow the deranged Republican Party to gain control of the presidency. Where Hillary is short-sighted and disappointing, the GOP is dangerous. If Donald Trump gets the Republican nomination (and it increasingly looks like he will), then you can expect that party to become literally fascist. Hill, with all her faults, would be a far better option.

(1,936 posts)and how many American soldiers died in Libya getting rid of that asshole? Ok, so you got the IWR, but were you slamming Kerry/Edwards in 2004 as war mongerers? Or is there some sort of double standard in play here?
Her record should be viewed as much more balanced than she is often portrayed at DU.
You really think any of the tough guys in the world would back down from Bernie? Clinton could cold stare most any of them into shaking in their boots.

(464 posts)So congrats Hillary, you have me by the short hairs and you get my vote when it comes to the ge and I'm sure to her campaign and many of her current supporters that's all they want from me. Not my passion, my energy or my heart or brain. Just my vote. But I swear if she is elected then reverses on the tpp and/or gets us involved in a new war I'm done with the Democratic Party.
