(58,785 posts)At this point, 52 yes, 7 no.
For Bernie to support the ferociously anti-progressive forces of the right by not endorsing Hillary would be a great shock. I don't expect that.

(2,565 posts)I know I won't vote for her and no one else who I have been working with will.
We got back into this party BECAUSE of Bernie Sanders and his willingness to stand up to the corruption that is the Clinton's and the DLC/Third Way.
Clinton as the candidate = President Trump.

She has, of course, actually done that before.

(1,021 posts)He's said it time and again. It's not even a question worth polling. The salient question is what happens to the substantial portion of the base that will have been burned out on or burned by the Democratic Party, the DNC, and Hillary's campaign.
If I had to guess, I'd say those who are older and/or not first-time voters will hold their nose and vote for Hillary. As for the rest, I imagine that a lot of them will write in Bernie, or (more likely) not vote at all in the general; and a substantial chunk will never trust the Democratic establishment again.

(15,373 posts)Whichever Dem candidate wins the most pledged delegates, the other will endorse. If it is Hillary who loses, based on past performance, she will also campaign enthusiastically on behalf of the winner.
While we have no past performance to judge what Bernie will do, I sincerely believe that he would also campaign on behalf of the winner because he understands how absolutely crucial it is for NO GOPer to get anywhere near the WH in 2016 - or perhaps ever again.

its customary, and even this year, i don't see that tradition broken at least on the dem side.

(2,565 posts)Those of us involved in the Sanders campaign know why we are here. SOME plan to vote for Clinton IF she wins.
Others have vowed to never pull a level for her.
Bernie asking them to do it will not change that opinion for one single person.

There is no situation left in which I would vote for Hillary Clinton.

(3,128 posts)...someone who in office will do what lines the pockets of the Clintons at the expense of everyone else. It doesn't matter if Bernie endorses her, a significant percentage of Bernie voters have closely observed Hillary's actions during this campaign and they know her record and they will NOT vote for her. The threat of the Supreme Court be damned. By smothering the will of the people, Hillary will have destroyed the Democratic (actually un-Democratic Party) along with her mini-me, DWS!
