(1,662 posts)Hillary will get a nice pat on the back on her way out the door while Bernie is giving his acceptance speech.

(8,201 posts)He has changed the conversation, changed Clinton's positions, made it possible for a surprising number of people to say yes, they are democratic socialists. I do believe he will shift the Democratic party to the left just as the tea partiers shifted the Republican party to the right.
And yes, regardless of whether he wins or loses the nomination, the more delegates he gets, the stronger the odds that his message will resonate beyond this election cycle.

(3,017 posts)That was one of her reasons for staying in against Obama. So why should Bernie drop out?

(16,950 posts)to stop Hillary. I wouldn't go around touting that worn-out 2008 crap now considering all the ill will wished on the Clintons. It's out of control and truly sickening.

(79 posts)"Asked if her continuing fight for the nomination against Senator Obama hurts the Democratic party, Sen. Hillary Clinton replied, "I don't. Because again, I've been around long enough. You know, my husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. You know, I just don't understand it. You know, there's lots of speculation about why it is."

Optimism
(142 posts)... but the hair on the back of my neck stood up when she (out of the blue) brought up Paul Wellstone's name in back-to-back debates some weeks back.
Yeah, the PAST TENSE in the thread title is just not going to work. Despite what the corporate media wants us to believe (always including the Super-delegate numbers to deflate us even more), this baby's only just begun. OF COURSE Hillary's going to do exceedingly well in all those conservative Southern States ... why wouldn't she? Is she capable of winning any of those in the General Election though ?! Not bloody likely.

Plus Hillary's indictment could come before the general, and we want to be around just in case. You know?

(10,559 posts)Is worth voting for in the general.
Good luck with that. For me, she can start by assuring me her husband won't be back in the White House, that she isn't facing indictment by the FBI and that the tens of millions of dollars donated to her foundation and her Wall Street speaking fees weren't really bribes and other forms of corruption.
I truly hope to pull the lever for a Democrat in November.

(39,961 posts)Hillary gave her "victory" speech in Iowa before she'd even won it (and popular vote said Bernie took it, but he's a gentleman).
I've heard he has given up Texas, he's given up the South, he's given up and it's all horseshit that Hillary supporters hope will become a self-fulfilling prophesy.
Hillary is so knee-deep in horseshit caused by HERSELF, that the only person that is standing in her way is Hillary of the past, which she attempts to disclaim she was ever a part of.
"Forget what I said that you disagreed with, remember everything I said that was positive."
I'm so sick of that train of illogic I could scream.
