2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumNo,Hillary Clinton is not paying herself from campaign funds.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=1411154I'm sure we'll be getting an apology from the Sanders supporters who look to right wing sites for dirt on Hillary Clinton soon.
There doesn't seem to be a bottom to how low some will go.

(145,176 posts)I have had to deal with in-kind contributions on filings with the Texas Ethics Board. This line of attack is truly wrong. Skinner's explanation is a good one.

(23,664 posts)My neighbor used to claim deductions for time he spent volunteering on various Rotary Club functions. He tried to get me to do the same thing but I never bothered.
Perhaps you could enlighten me. Or if you think Skinner's explanation will clear it up post a link.
Was money transferred from the campaign account to Clinton's personal account?
If so, was this money ostensibly repayment for "in kind contributions" (services rendered) the candidate made to her own campaign?
Gothmog
(145,176 posts)Here is the link to Skinner's explanation http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=1411154 These are expenditure being made by parties on behalf of the campaign. The article being cited is truly sad and wrong.
tularetom
(23,664 posts)I assume that in-kind contributions made to a political campaign, cannot be claimed as a tax deduction.
It pissed me off that my neighbor was essentially making the taxpayers reimburse him for his civic "good deeds", but then I probably shouldn't have been surprised since he was our local right wing district attorney.
Gothmog
(145,176 posts)If someone is claiming these as deductions then report them to the IRS.
Contributions to some 501(c)(4)s may be tax deductible but that is not clear to me. A donation to a candidate is never deductible on your taxes

Why would we think Hillary is paying herself when she has millions from The Golden boy.
It would not surprise me though is Bill being a paid adviser?
It would be legal and Bill would certainly take advantage of it.

(2,679 posts)I saw the OP to the right wing site and sent an alert, you know cause it's a link to right wing crazy stuff. But I guess my alert was disappeared.
Seems to happen a lot in the GD-P for anti-Hillary posts. But boy oh boy the Hillary Clinton Group as all these hidden posts, so I guess Sanders supporters' alert buttons work great for them. Kind of a double standard.
But no worries soon the primaries will be over, and most of those people will leave and we can have our DU back. God I can't wait.
sufrommich
(22,871 posts)survived a jury. They pointed with pride to that fact right in the original OP.
But damn if I haven't seen this type of behavior before. Oh yeah, its pretty reminiscing of the free republic. Sometimes coming into the GD-P feels eerily familiar.
But again that's ok soon this will be over HRC will be the nominee and then in Nov she will be President.

(15,368 posts)Ya think!
When it is something that says something vile about Hillary, it's OK. It doesn't even have to be real, as per the OP being protested. B***S*** can even be manufactured and that's OK too.
Anything goes - open season on the best qualified candidate who "just" also happens to be a woman.

(2,679 posts)Sometimes I have to check the url make sure it says demorcaticunderground.com and not freerepublic.com - as it seems for the last few months the right wing as taken over this website. Normally posts that are using places like freebeacon or of similar ilk, get hidden or locked. But only when it is anti Sanders. If its anti Clinton then by all means feel free to use right wing sources. Crazy ain't it?

I don't know if that was shut down. But it was certainly used, even though it's supposed to be a right wing attack link.
So no, I don't approve of garbage links and garbage stories being used against "either" candidate. thank you skinner for shutting it down on the other thread. Now how about shutting it down on this one too?

It certainly makes it clear that you are all still worried that Bill will be playing the deja vu blues for Hillary or you would all be quieting your smug act down by now instead of continuing the shit stirring. Thanks for keeping us informed of the mood in the Hillary camp though.
