I've always wanted to see a picture like this so I did it myself.

(6,007 posts)But this is an election and it's all about numbers. And big crowds tend to have more people than small, intimate settings, in case you hadn't noticed.

(20,411 posts)Bernie has been beating all of the GOP candidates in the polls by large margins for months.
Hillary has been losing to almost all GOP candidates in the polls for months.
Lately, she finally got 1% more than Trump but lost to all the others. She even lost to Bush.
I don't think the name-recognition/popularity contest within the Democratic party is the important thing . . the real deal is the matchup with the GOP candidates. And Bernie beats hands down.

(43 posts)It does matter what happens in the primary. If he cannot win enough delegates, it does not make a difference how he stacks up against the GOP candidates.
desmiller
(747 posts)those delegates' efforts will cause a backlash of epic proportion.
YCHDT
(962 posts)... still be a backlash?
Sounds like the DNC doesn't need the backlashers in the first place, they're not into the whole democracy or plurality thing

(1,377 posts)For awhile it was said to be Sanders can't beat GOP but Hillary can and she should win because we must make sure a democrat wins. Now it does not matter who is better to beat the GOP?
consciouslocs
(43 posts)Is you have to win the delegates before a national poll is really relevant at this point.

(43 posts)I do not take much stock in these national polls yet. You have to compete in every state and win the base of your party before those polls are relevant.

(7,393 posts)I know lots and lots of Hillary supporters, and every single one of them can't wait to vote for her (or has already done so).
I think Bernie is just very uncomfortable in one on one conversations with voters. That, IMO, is why he hasn't been able to resonate with so many folks in so many demographic groups.

(646 posts)In Flint - MY CITY - Hillary talked TO people in a church, and Bernie LISTENED to people in a church. Hillary filmed her SPEECH to make a political ad, and Bernie?? Haven't seen his add yet where people are talking to him ..... Something tells me he will either 1. Write legislation to help the citizens of Flint as a Senator, or 2. Make serious changes as the President next year to help people in Flint.
Just my opinion.

(7,393 posts)Hillary swooped down on our very newly elected mayor, who never held an elected position of ANY office (let alone mayor of a city in the middle of a catastrophe) before, in the midst of an overwelming tragedy, and takes our dear mayor under her "wing" ..... Ya, I know how things work in Michigan .....
Some day I should write a book....
MaggieD
(7,393 posts)... As his sole means of political respons. See the difference? Bernie doesn't like one on ones with people.
Marr
(20,317 posts)lol, 'Hillary talks WITH people'. Uh-huh.
MaggieD
(7,393 posts)Whatever.
I'm always amazed at how thin and insubstantial 'support' from party loyalists really is.
This is the problem with making 'win the election' your only real principle.
MaggieD
(7,393 posts)There must have some reason she lied about that, right?
Marr
(20,317 posts)She wasn't quoting Hillary and asking her to explain her remarks?
She claimed Hillary called "black kids" super predators and Hillary never said that. So yes, that is a lie. There is some connection to Cornell West and the Sanders campaign here. Mark my words.
Everyone knew who she was talking about at the time, and you know it. Do you excuse Republicans' coded language and dog whistles, or just Hillary's?
MaggieD
(7,393 posts)People lie for a reason.
Marr
(20,317 posts)I'm glad you agree.

(646 posts)he didn't take pictures or video his townhall forum for a political ad. He listened to the residents of Flint. The picture you see of Bernie in this post is perhaps at Michigan State in Lansing or Eastern University in Ypsilanti. Jeesh.
Oh - by the way - Hillary gave a SPEECH to the citizens of Flint when she came here. This picture of Hillary giving a speech is NOT her speaking to the residents of Flint.
Another JEESH.
