Wife of slain civil rights leader endorses Hillary Clinton
http://www.wapt.com/politics/wife-of-slain-civil-rights-leader-endorses-hillary-clinton/38398822n Monday, just one day before Mississippi’s Primary Elections, Hillary for America, the local campaign group for Clinton, said that Evers-Williams is standing with Clinton.
The campaign said Clinton’s views on voting rights, gun control and health care were among the reasons for Evers-Williams support.
In an excerpt from the release titled, "Why I’m with Hillary Clinton," by Myrlie Evers, a portion read, “Hillary Clinton understands that we must make it easier, not harder, to vote. Her plan to restore the provisions of the Voting Rights Act that would prevent voter ID laws is progress.”
Evers-Williams is a civil rights activist and wife of the late Medgar Evers.
