All the focus on polls is driving me crazy

It's basically gotten to the point where I'm just ready to throw up my hands and scream because they are literally ALL OVER THE MAP this election cycle and NOBODY really knows what to think about the state of the race.

The demographics (outside the south) seem to be favorable to President Obama, President Obama's approval ratings are at (or very close to) the 50's (as far as we can tell according to the polls), unemployment is down, there haven't been any huge blunders by President Obama during the entire election season (unless you want to count the first debate, which, I don't think was really a "loss" by President Obama so much as it was the "appearance" of a "victory" by Romney), and he has consistently high favorability ratings. Also, Dems have greatly enhanced their position in Senate races- even in tough places like Missouri- and may even pick up a seat or two (i.e. Indiana) that they had not previously been favored to win. In short, all major indicators fail to suggest, at least to me, that President Obama's Presidency is headed for the scrap heap.

However, there seems to be an appearance, driven largely by the polls (and little or nothing else) that Romney is all of the sudden surging in popularity (among WOMEN, are you kidding me?) from where he has been stagnant for most of this election. I can't believe that this "surge" in the polls is anything but a mirage created by the media- using fluff pieces and propaganda, as well as the polling to drive the narrative that Romney/Ryan are on their way to 1600 N. Pennsylvania St. come next January.
Is anybody else about ready to just pull their hair out about all of the polling and propaganda?!

As a teamleader for OFA I can tell you that we have always known this election will be close. We have trained for that. We have been expecting nothing less.
Polls will go up and down, the more polls are taken the more the results are scewed in one direction or another. Everybody needs to take a deep breath and do one thing and one thing only. Join up with one of the Obama grassroots teams in your neighborhood and make sure we get Democrats to the polls.
Because when we show up - we win.....

that is all that really matters

thanks

I'm waking at 3am to check polls and again at 6 when I get up. This election and all these polls are driving me crazy. I'm nervous as hell, losing sleep and can't eat. Obama has to win in Nov. so my life can get back to normal.
