Interesting, positive news from IOWA

In in such a hurry, but had to post.

I'm at the Polk County Democratic Convention in Des Moines, Iowa. I am a delegate for Bernie.

We just had our first delegate count. This count is based in the results of the Iowa Caucus in Polk Countu only.

Sanders 523
Clinton 519
MOM. 8

Here's the kicker...Clinton originally won Polk County. Percentages were Clinton 53 %, Bernie 46%.

The numbers flipped!!! That means that some Clinton supporters defected to Bernie, or else some Clinton people just didn't show up.

I'm sorry I don't know what this means for the final counts. This is only ONE County Convention. 99 other CCs going on today. Will be interesting to see if this is a trend!!!!

Polk County is Iowa's most populous County.

Holy buckets!!!!!!

Will post when we're done and with final numbers.

are estimates. In most states, the actual final count will not be available until after their state convention. At every level, there are rounding decisions that affect the actual count.

All delegate count reports from all states should be treated as estimates until the state has held its Democratic Party convention.

Mostly, they won't change very much, if at all, but they certainly can change in small ways.

Just a note to clarify how this all works.

BUT, just as the truth that Santorum actually won Iowa came far too late for him with Romney getting the credit for weeks, the same could happen here.

However, the truth though will be, whomever wins, what Bernie said that night... a virtual tie. For Bernie that was a win because he showed he had real strength.

The count was to close with to many irregularities.

Also that BS about how it's not there practice to release the data was thrown of the cliff once the published raw count from 2008 was found.

delegates to the national convention, read everything at this link:

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P16/IA-D

It's actually impossible in Iowa to have an accurate delegate count until after their state convention. If you read the explanation at the link, you'll see that all numbers before then are just estimates.

We won't really know until after Iowa's state convention. Oddly, any delegate can change allegiance at any stage of Iowa's selection process, which sort of makes the whole caucus thing meaningless. All a delegate has to do is sign a statement to that effect before voting on delegates to the next level. Even at the state convention, a delegate can change allegiance.

Finally, at the state convention, the slate of actual delegates to the national convention is elected. Still, the estimated count usually ends up being very close to the final count. It remains a virtual tie, really. regardless. Iowa only has 44 delegates, in the end, so those county delegate counts aren't really that important in the end.

There's no practical way for that to happen. A few county delegates might change their support, but that would have minimal effect. Wholesale changes just won't happen. Those delegates are just ordinary people. Such changes in affiliation are not common at all.

just make it where you really are not all that enthused with the person.

I was working with a candidate for mayor of my home town and he seemed to be bright and really smart. I had known him a long time. But when I was working on his campaign he was the most bigoted ignorant person I had ever know. Pushed the women around, just a bad apple. But on the outside as long as he was't stressed he was nice. I voted for the other person.

Some of these Clinton people may have not liked the way the people were being pushed around and changed sides.
