When HRC sat through 11 hours of non stop attacks at that hearing...

She earned my undying admiration by her being able to stand in there when they are firing off verbal cannons and accusations at her..

No amount of attacks against her will shake that from me.. She is one tough lady..

Most people would have folded up or lost it.. there is some real steel in her spine

It's about the ability to take hours and hours of attacks...the strength to fight back. The mental and emotional capacity to take all that, fight it and come out victorious.

I find you equating the two very strange...

You know what? Millions of people spend 8 hours or more at their job on their feet, not getting to sit down, EVERY DAY. Many don't break for lunch or bathroom breaks often. That's just their daily life...

crisis. We all know what she is capable of. This is why it is so distressing hearing her say things like that. It was at Bill's nominating convention that the country first heard directly about Reagan and Bush's refusal to act on AIDS. And yet she said that.
I don't know what to think and I am not happy at all that she did that. She did that, unasked. I don't get it. And her supporters very clearly think it is funny or not important. I thought very differently of this Party until she said that. I thought she had helped us win that battle against Reagan. I had no idea she was entirely divorced from the very reality that was presented as being their reality in 92.

You guys can make light, you always have and always will. I really don't care. But this was very much a bad, bad thing. I can't figure it out. I don't think I really want to.

But that's what many of you want to hear, Nancy and Ronnie were great. This Party is full of Reagan Democrats. Who all sided with Death's Head with a bone in his mouth.

I agree with OP: Hillary is tough. She's been through wars for the past 25 years. And if she is the nominee she'll stand a better chance of providing coattails to Democratic candidates than Bernie can. And sometimes, reading on here, I get the impression that some of Bernie's most virulent supporters think if he can just get elected, it doesn't matter if the Congress stays in the hands of the GOP, Bernie will just magically be able to bend Congress to his will. It doesn't work that way, folks. And Bernie knows it too, despite the promises. I too wish it did. As President Obama has shown, a progressive President can barely even get through Congress modest versions of his campaign promises (Affordable Care Act).

Bernie's campaign promises would probably not be realistic if the Democrats got an overwhelming majority in Congress - and we know they won't.

I don't care whether Hillary or Bernie wins, but one of them must win because the future of our country depends on the future makeup of the Supreme Court.

Bernie says over and over in his speeches that a President can not do it alone, that it will require a political revolution. He is talking about it in Columbus, OH as I am typing this. Bernie's supporters understand this.

But the impression I get is so many of them actually do think Bernie will get all that through Congress subito presto. Like the other - rather rude so I won't bother replying - person responding to my thread. The "revolution" isn't going to happen. Too much of the country is too far to the right and has been since Reagan. I guess they are too young to remember how difficult it was for even a centrist Democrat like Clinton to get elected after 12 years of Republican domination.

I thought in 2008 that President Obama = a political revolution. Nope. Obama's a man of extraordinary gifts, certainly far more than Bernie Sanders, and if he couldn't do it - Sanders certainly can't.

These are two of her best qualities, IMO. She is not my first choice for the nomination but there are definitely qualities I admire about her.

55. It was one of the higher points for her, in the past 8 months.
Sun Mar 13, 2016, 07:36 PM
Mar 2016

Low points include "what, with a cloth", pretending to be a befuddled grandma on IT questions and then a month later kowtowing to the FBI on making sure no one can encrypt their iphones while posing as some sort of tech expert.

Also trying lamely to justify ties to Wall St. "because nineeleven".

Also hand-waving away "free speech etc" concerns while making noises identical to the ones being made by Trump at the time, on the subject of censoring internet content.

Those were some low points.

Them's the rules.

Comparing 11 hours in front of people in Congress aiming to destroy you, to caucusing may be the most ridiculous comparison I've ever heard in my entire life. Thanks for the laugh.

My husband is legally blind and loves the mail in ballot primary. Only problem is that the Democratic Party has decided to get all of its delegates from the caucus this year. Now my legally blind husband has to negotiate his way around a crowded, loud, confusing caucus that makes voting more difficult. So thanks for trivializing and laughing at such a serous issue. Oh, and by the way my way of pushing to change the system is to leave the damn party. 40% of Americans are now Independents. Good luck winning in November after alienating 40% of the country with all this corrupt party caucus crap.

I don't like being in a place like that for that period of time - I'd never caucus if that's what we had in my state.

So, not trivializing it at all, but the comparison was just a cheap shot at Hillary and a terrible one at that.

I'm registered as an independent too.

Most here aren't all that different, I just refuse to toss cheap-shot bombs at either candidate.

Hillary being grilled by Republicans for 11 hours is a cheap shot? The voters should be commended for doing their civil duty. Hillary did withstand 11 hours of grilling from Republicans. That does not necessarily mean she is qualified to be president. My father in law was tough as nails. Doesn't mean I wanted him to be president.

She thinks she CANNOT handle tough interviews (and she is the best judge of her ability).

In addition, it was not 11 hours work of attacks. Almost all the Democrats used their time to give speeches
in her defense and she went on and on in her answers to eat up time.

Bernie has handled one tough interview after another.

Always struck me as an ironic bit of sexism.

As if anyone would ever say "one tough man" and think that was reason enough to impress them...

Ironic.

As a veteran, watching someone lie about trying to enlist to advance their career, then vote to send other people into combat to advance their career, then lie about getting shot at in a combat area to advance their career, and then lauded in combat metaphors because they sat in a chair for 11 hours enduring "nonstop attacks and verbal cannons" ...

I don't know. I don't even have words for that feeling.

Maybe she is only tough when she has hours to prepare against people who are worse than she is?

But a president needs to make decisions in a snap. We can't afford for her to prepare every decision with polls and fcous groups and whatnot.

And moreover: why should the entire political discourse of this country be conducted on GOP terms? That kind of sheltered upper-class worldview is hardly realistic.

Clinton is a silent homophobe who won't own up to her mistakes and instead only weasel around the issue: "I mispoke, I misplaced a distinction". Be careful whom you admire. It's only a matter of time before she backstabs you too - unless you are a part of the 1 %?
