On the Republican Side, the Fix Is In for Kasich

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by In_The_Wind (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

I've suspected this for the past few weeks: When all the handwringing over Trump is done, and the dust has settled, Cleveland will present to America a GOP nominee that they will expect you to be "relieved" by; an allegedly-moderate, supposedly-reasonable Episcopalian boy from the Heartland. But it's nothing more than a bait-and-switch, because if you look at the Governor's record (which I suspect most people here have already done), it becomes readily apparent that this man is neither moderate nor reasonable.

"Trump too extreme? There, there, America, here's a nice guy!" I shudder to think how many independents will be taken in by the con.

to the north. You have a good point and I think there is something there. Kasich is indeed a very scary guy and not well known in the states.

By the way, if we immigrate can you recommend a good realtor?

This whole primary circus is shameful.
And this leads directly, no time to think about how people have been fucked over by the process, into a GE.

It's equally shameful that on the Democratic party side the odds on favorite is known to be, without a doubt, totally bought.
A person whose foreign policy credibility is certified by Kissinger, Kagan, Nuland, and the whole associated gang of war profiteers.

Not very cool all around.

Let's start a group where bashing is forbidden. We can call it the 'show your intelligence group' because posts will have to be thoughtfully written to avoid bashing, and maybe the discussions will actually be discussions. Would be the hardest place to post in existence. Could be a blast to see how people get around the 'no pissing on anybody' rule.

because even though the republicans may not be the most intelligent of people, they aren't that stupid. His supporters won't take such a move lightly, and since he's getting at least twenty to thirty percent of the votes in the primaries, they could wind up losing the Trump voters themselves, not just the election. They really are in deep doo. It may be better to let him run and lose.

I'm just so sad about how when the money rolled in, the MSM including MSNBC became impediments to freedom.

Congratulations to those at MSNBC who survived the purges so far. We'll never know what values you sacrificed.

With the open manipulations = I mean, Comcast donates to HRC's campaign. That's getting pretty damn specific. Not open to very much interpretation. I don't know how much of it all is tax deductable, but one can only guess that would be next to nothing compared to how much is given in kind.

Trump has already started to make himself poison and Ted is a Canadian whom the party powers and money hate, no one will have it wrapped up before Cleveland. Kasich will be their white knight ridding in to save them the MSM will praise him as the adult in the room. Trump really does not want the job and will not spend any of his own money to run as a third party (trump is where he is mostly by his use of free media). I thought months ago that Kasich would be the hardest candidate to run against. I fear the Hillary can not win if the republicans pick Kasich while Bernie with the help of independents and a number of disaffected Trump supports can easily win. What Hillary supporters do not understand is that to win in the fall it will require the support of most of the independents. We need to nominate as our candidate who can get the independents vote in the general and Bernie has shown that he is the one who can do it.
