(15,643 posts)I like the webpage too. It shows almost all of Hillary's popular vote lead comes from red states. Bernie's beating her in the blue states. So we shall see. I am concerned about Hillary's electability given that trend and the general belief that she can't/won't carry the Independents.

(30,439 posts)Or do Dems in states outside the south count more? Or are you referring to red states only?
Do you have some sort of proprietary formula which calculates the value of each Democratic vote based on geographic area? And if you do, can be please send it to me and websites like The Green Papers, RCP, Politco etc?
That way we we can weight the popular vote totals based on your assigned value to each Democratic voter.
Thank you in advance.

(4,667 posts)AA voters. Without AA (minority) Voters a Democrat won't be elected anywhere outside of Vermont and Massachusetts. So having primaries in the south allows our party's most reliable constituency to have voice in picking a nominee. By the way, while the AA vote is smaller in other states, without it, a Democrat has no chance in Ohio, Michigan, Pennslyvania, etc.

(10,164 posts)That sound like a winning strategy in November to you?

Actually, I knew. I've been following the popular vote for a while. The pattern is clear, and it's echoed in her lead in the delegate count, too. Keep watching for updates. There will be new numbers on Wednesday.

(2,054 posts)Do you really think Hilary if nominated will get more votes in the south than Obama, especially among Black voters?

(18,115 posts)And caucuses don't rely on, or record, popular vote.

(1,290 posts)This would be like stopping the general election at 7:30 PM and scream ROMNEY WINNING POPULAR VOTE because all of the south just came in first.
Your candidate might win the popular vote, delegate count, and everything else. Just hold your damn horses and be patient. Prematurely trying to beat victory into the heads of your opponents can only be gloating or an intentional attempt to demoralize your fellow Democrats.
