Vehicles damage cemetery during Trump rally

http://www.pantagraph.com/news/local/vehicles-damage-cemetery-during-trump-rally/article_e41d25f0-2814-546a-a8a8-da0cbe498568.html

BLOOMINGTON — People going to the Donald Trump rally on Sunday drove over graves and headstones and tore up turf when parking in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, according to residents with loved ones buried there.

The Republican presidential front-runner flew in for a rally at the Synergy Flight Center, which is across Empire Street from the cemetery. More than 3,000 Trump supporters and hundreds of protesters attended the event.

Charlotte Twyford of Downs said she has two relatives buried in the cemetery, and she is worried that damage may have been done to their graves after seeing several Facebook pictures of the scene and talking with cemetery officials and other families.

“Headstones were broken out there,” Twyford said. “Throughout the day, we kept seeing and hearing reports from the cemetery, and it just kept getting worse and worse and worse. It just shows that some people had a total disrespect for the graves and they need to be prosecuted.”

this kind of stuff does not usually fly here

i saw several folks interviewed after the trump rally and no one said they were a supporter...instead it was , we don't usually get candidates here so we just went to check it out

people driving over babies' graves shocked me

Rally like this probably draw a lot of folks from out of the area. We just had him here in the Cincinnati area and a friend who was up there (for chits and giggles) said there were a lot of Indiana/Kentucky/West Virginia plates in the lot. I'm sure the damage was done by folks who said "hell...I'm never gonna be here again so who gives a chit". Classic Trump logic.

There was a pic on here somewhere comparing the trash post rally...Trump vs. Sanders. Trump was littered all over the ground. Sanders was all piled up in a trash can with the cardboard boxes broken down. lol.

Anyway - I'm sure there are a lot of neighborhoods that are much better than their Trumpster visitors.

years ago we had a pontoon boat...went out all the time

our favorite little cove to beach at was always covered with trash when we got there...my kids knew first thing we were gonna pick up the trash

as adults now when they are out camping or boating, they do the same

makes me proud

There the baby graves are with the family's. I don't know why they would be separate.

Some people have standing headstones, some have the flat in the ground ones. That doesn't imply anything about the age in the one I know about. I suspect it's more expense or cemetery rules. Some cemeteries like flat stones because the grass maintenance is easier.

I hope your folks headstones are okay. Fortunately there is now info about how to repair damaged headstones, thanks to vandals damaging them.
