On the ground report from Florida

According to the Tampa Bay Times this afternoon:

Turnout was brisk, elections officials said, reflecting the heavy participation of early and absentee voters who turned in more than 2 million ballots statewide before the polls opened at 7 a.m. By the time polls close tonight, statewide turnout is expected to set a new record for votes cast in a presidential primary in Florida.

Pasco County Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley said the 31 percent turnout in his county was "stronger than I thought it would be, which is good. In Pinellas too, nearly 30 percent of eligible voters had cast ballots early. Hillsborough turnout topped, 32 percent.

Here is my report from my precinct in a GOP-dominated county as of 1:30pm. I was voter #301. The poll worker said that the usual turnout in a presidential primary for this precinct is about 5 or 6.

With a hat tip to WillyT:

Bring it, Florida!
