(58,785 posts)Sanders doesn't do casual chat, over beers or otherwise, and he doesn't waste time on people who aren't with him or important enough to be use in some way.
Hillary for sure. She's good company, as many of her friends have said, and of course very interesting.
Trump's Trump, and I haven't been a pretty young woman for a few decades now. Definitely at his "best," such as it is, from a distance.
Disgusting anti-Semitism it seems to be a growing trend with Hillary supporters.

(18,133 posts)WASHINGTONAccording to a Pew Research Center poll released Tuesday, the majority of registered voters in the U.S. chose Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton as the candidate they would most like to have an 8-ounce glass of tap water with. Roughly 68 percent of the likely voters we surveyed said that among the current field of presidential hopefuls, they would prefer to drink a small paper cup of room-temperature water with Hillary Clinton, said researcher Rachel Glenn, who added that both registered Democrats and Republicans said they could readily see themselves standing next to Clinton in front of a kitchen sink or beside a water cooler, with both nodding politely at each others pleasantries while they took sips from their respective cups. Unlike a Donald Trump or a Chris Christie, Hillary Clinton is widely considered by Americans to be the kind of person they could spend a minute or so with until they finished their glass of water before quietly walking away. That quality isnt something a candidate can just learn, but Clinton has it. Glenn noted that this issue could be crucial when it comes time for Americans to resign themselves to one candidate in November.

(56,582 posts)George Washington's house. In a bit of excavation down the road the archaeologists had discovered the foundations of his old gristmill and distillery, and the Association that runs Mount Vernon dug up the old blueprints and built them as closely as possible (within current OSHA and ADA allowances).
A year later, it was up and running, and rye and corn grown on the Mt. Vernon estate was being used to make whiskey by Washington's original recipe. The Commonwealth of Virginia was incredibly helpful and enthusiastic, and actually gave us the ABC number 1789 (all hard liquors in VA must be sold by a state-contracted store).
When our first batch was coming out, we got a red-flag "stop everything" message from the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Commission: "whatever you're doing with your pre-orders, I need you to stop."
We talked to the guy, and it turned out there was an unbelievably interested buyer in our absolute first bottle of Washington's moonshine: he was on Pennsylvania Avenue in DC. It's been served in tiny shots at select state dinners since then.

Great guy. I still think we made a mistake by killing off his campaign.

(2,792 posts)But stay tuned. He's going to campaign hard for Democrats this cycle. And he's going to verbally lash and ridicule Trump. The best antidote to narcissistic fascists is humor, and O'Malley will deliver that in spades. I hope Clinton or Sanders (whoever the nominee turns out to be) has the sense to call on him for support.

(254 posts)As a bit of a loner, I like drinking alone best. I get tired of people and their chattering very quickly. Give me a book for company instead.
If I really had to choose, Sanders would probably be the best drinking companion for me. He seems to have a very relaxed personality.

Which is exactly what we got.

I want Bernie to be my Senator, I want Hillary to be my President and I just wish Trump would go away...
I will drink beer with my sweetie or my neighbor... this should never be the criteria for picking a President
