(1,514 posts)If the DNC is worried about Bernie doing damage to Hillary, then maybe they should field a better candidate.

This is just one more sign that we are having a real impact. Keep going Bernie!

Nope. Actually, that would not work the way they think it would. The two platforms are pretty much diametrically opposed. Core principles are involved, and a lot of Bernie's supporters don't play The Oligarch's Game, where we have to make a sort of reverse Sophie's Choice.

(36,063 posts)Funny how the right-wing of the party can't live with or without the left, and live in fear that the left with muss up their candidate.
The only really serious possible ding could be to Clinton's fundraising.
But, it's really hard to believe the billionaires that pledged to spend whatever it took could be having doubts about writing more checks.

(24,411 posts)for not voting for Hillary.
These bed wetters took to the media to pressure Elizabeth Warren into endorsing Hillary. They must have called a private press conference or organized a press tour. There were several stories with the same theme, "Come ooooon Warren! Endorse Hillary NOW!!". McCasskille, Shaheen and others were quoted in all of the articles.

It didn't work then.
Now they're trying to pressure Bernie and his supporters into giving up.
It's over when Bernie supporters ("We The People" say it is. Not you cackling goofballs.
Spread your hand wringing and bullying somewhere else. No one is interested in the little game that you're playing.

(1,514 posts)then why doesn't the DNC offically name Hillary as the winner of the nomination process? Unless, the process isn't over. If your football team is up by 17 points and it's the beginning of the 4th quarter, why don't the officials just declare your team the winner and end the game right then and there?

(3,411 posts)They can bite me. The voters have not all spoken yet. Whether these insiders have hurt feelers or not, half the country has yet to have their day in the voting booth.
Sanders has yet to take a real swing at her, and they want he should lighten up?
Have any of these esteemed Senators called for Clinton to tread lightly? To not straight up lie? To not to do real damage in a general election against Donald Trump? Hell no they haven't!
Get back to me when it's not a dozen (almost!) of Clinton's backers. Right now it's of no more importance than a dozen of her Wall Street supporters saying Sanders should wind it down.

(3,411 posts)hear. That why we have primaries, to get all the facts and decide for ourselves. All I've been seeing the last few days is 'take it easy on Hillary' crap. And I'm getting fed up. If Clinton is so easily bruised or damaged, she should get out of the running and let someone else take on the fight. If she tough enough, then the calls to protect her from the big, bad man should cease.
If I had pulled that pretty, puny princess shite at work, I'd have been laughed off the field!

(And in spite of my distaste for some, IMHO, over-the-top, non-productive rah, rah and threats to sit out the general, and some tone-deafness in the Sanders campaign, I'm considering reinstating my Bernie avatar. Yes, I'm watching the AZ rally. And I've been a monthly contributor since well before he announced. At least a year, I think, although I upped it drastically when he announced.)
