Too close for Romney's comfort?
Obama's almost certainly not going to win Georgia, but if he's only trailing by single digits, then he's not doing too bad!

(12,165 posts)Early voting has started. I went on the first day, and there was a pretty long line. I'm in the metro which skews more liberal.
While its highly unlikely for Obama to make a dent in GA, the local races matter a great deal. I hope he has coattails.
And a big popular vote is important, too.

(340 posts)It really would not be wise to try and expand the electoral map into a state like GA. Now, if several reputable polls come outta there in the next 3-4 days that show us within 3-4....thats a different story.
As of right now we need to break this down into 3 tiers of Time/Money spent.
Tier One: Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, NH
Tier Two: VA, and CO
Tier Three: NV, NC, Florida
The thinking here is that our "Electoral Firewall" that keeps getting talked about really is OH, WI, and Iowa (assuming we get NH). We get those states its over , we win.
Tier 2 are still very winnable and with Tier 2 money being spent there we still have a 50/50 shot of pulling one of those states out.
Tier 3 starts with Nevada because I simply believe we have Nevada locked up and they are not going Red. So while some money needs to be spent there to hold, we can get a little more conservative (dare I use that word here?!) there. NC and Florida until I see further good polls for us get some time and money but we might need to start coming to some realizations here pretty soon. But, that said I wanna see more polling numbers there before I make that decision.

(4,551 posts)According to Rasmussen's new poll this week:
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2012/election_2012_presidential_election/montana/election_2012_montana_president
That's an improvement from John McCain's score in 2008, but well below the numbers that Bush received in 2004.

(3,077 posts)I live in Cobb county. I voted early and the wait time wa 45 minutes. By the time I got in to vote the wait time was 1 1/2 hours. But, I had heard that the wait time on the Monday was 3 hours. It would be nice to see Barack win GA.

(340 posts)By Your sense, is there any realistic chance of us catching Romney there?
If you were running O's campaign, would you invest heavily into trying to pick up the win here?
