I think there are always some self-identified party members who cross over to the other side for whatever reasons. Identifying all those so-called Democrats as PUMAs is not very scientific.

In every election there is always some dissatisfaction with a party's nominee.

Let's look at the last six election's numbers;

2012: Obama, 6% of the R. Romney 7% of the D.

2008: Obama, 9% of the R. McCain 10% of the D.

2004: Kerry, 6% of the R. Bush Jr. 11% of the D.

2000: Gore, 8% of the R. Bush Jr. 11% of the D.

1996: Clinton, 13% of the R. Dole 10% of the D.

1992: Clinton, 10% of the R. Bush Sr. 10% of the D.

Imagine that, an even 10-11% over the last 5 elections, with both parties becoming a bit more polarized in 2012.

So, I believe your claim that the 2008 numbers are a reflection of the so-called PUMA vote just went

Also, I seem to remember hearing that McCain got a larger percentage of Edwards voters than he did Clinton voters.

Many of the PUMAs were Republicans, ratfucking Democrats. Just like many of today's neo-PUMAs (Sanders "supporters&quot .

What specific delusion compels you to presume anything about who these 10% of Democrats were? Do the symptoms help you divine anything about the 9% of Republicans voting for Obama?
