(16,184 posts)Oh wait, I haven't.

(28,791 posts)And i always vote
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)However, I'm not the one that attached the term revolution to the Sanders campaign.
I just thought I'd remind people what a revolution actually looks like.
Viva_La_Revolution
(28,791 posts)Doesn't have to be violent. But you know that.
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)My point is that revolution is a word not to be used lightly.

(28,791 posts)Some were beat up at the very march the op posted a picture of
EffieBlack
(14,249 posts)the depiction isn't accurate?
Okaaay ...

(83,758 posts)Now that is what a Revolution looks like. It sure was not fought in a day.
Thank you.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)Or this
So excuse me while I laugh
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)I wasn't among the group calling BLM "angry black lesbians" and "race naggers" and concern trolling how they were turning white people off from the movement.
So, excuse me while I laugh.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)Because the revolution did not stop at the Edmund Pettus bridge in the 1960s.
It is ongoing, and I happen to document it locally
?w=1000&h=&crop=1
So go tell me something I really need to know. I document this shit
Oh and here, from our protests over CC 182.5
You all seem to ignore this and call people names.
So again, excuse me while I truly laugh.
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)I supported BLM since day one, when they were protesting Sanders, when they were protesting O'Malley, when they were disrupting traffic, when they were protesting Clinton, when they were protesting Republicans, and when they were committing the horrible crime of hurting white progressives' feelings.
So, spare me your laughter.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)And you should have added photos of the present movement. I will add a few more for you
?w=1000&h=

If you were thinking that some of us would not forget about the present, well, you miscalculated. And you can stuff your personal insults by the way.
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)But hey, whatever you say.

Here is a story you might want to read from yesterday... nope you will not see that much detail anywhere else
http://reportingsandiego.com/2016/03/24/janitors-carry-the-cross-and-have-feet-washed/
See, the premise that the OP started with is dead wrong. Just because CNN does not run it, does not mean it is not happening. It is roiling under the surface
And spare me the BS supporters are racist shtick.
R B Garr
(16,953 posts)Now it's a different story.

(67,782 posts)OutNow
(864 posts)I would include some events from our history
the autoworkers sit-down strikes of the 1930s
the April 24, 1971 march on Washington by more than 1 million people to end the war in Vietnam
the UFW lettuce and grape boycott in the late 1960s and 70s
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)But yes, I absolutely agree.
H2O Man
(73,537 posts)Thank you.
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)And I will continue to insult Bernie supporters on DU because that will really motivate them to show up in November.
Good luck with that!
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)I didn't anticipate him getting far in the primary. I sure didn't expect the end to come so soon, but I'm far from bitter about it.
As a bonus point, if your motivation to get out and vote in November is based on your personal feelings being taken care of, then I would like to thank you for making my point for me.
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)Maybe it's jealousy.
Either way, it's just more of what I've come to expect from those who despise Bernie and his followers, they can't see what they've become. But I don't hate in return, I feel sorry for people who spend all of their time tearing Bernie and his supporters down, especially when I used to respect them.
Feel better.
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)Just a little tired of the "Che t-shirt sold at the Gap" brand that passes for "revolution" around here.
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)But thanks for doing your level best to make sure voters are mocked and marginalized.
How democratic of you.
EffieBlack
(14,249 posts)Just stating a fact.
Unfortunately, some Bernie supporters think that anything short of "I'm feeling the bern because Bernie's so dreamy!" is an attack - funny thing since many of the same people call Hillary and her supporters the most hateful names and make the most despicable accusations and claim that they are just stating facts and offering a comparison.
Bottom line, the OP is dead on.
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)What you see is the backlash against all of the vile things posted about Bernie and his supporters here.
The op hasn't been dead on in months, unless by dead on you meant enraged and lashing out against people because they enthusiastically support a different candidate.
HOW DARE WE SUPPORT BERNIE??? WHAT WERE WE THINKING???
PEOPLE MUST BE PUNISHED FOR THIS!!!

(57,349 posts)NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)You might want to let this go, because every post you've made here is just further proof that this political campaign doesn't belong anywhere remotely in the same category as the Baltic Way or the Salt March.
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)You ignored the revolutions that didn't fit your narrative, but those people don't count either I guess.
Like I said, can't see what you've become.
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)But there are indeed a great deal more that deserve the title.
This campaign isn't one of them.
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)Really, it's been apparent for quite some time what you have against Bernie and his supporters.
You can stop now.
NCTraveler
(30,481 posts)Nadine was even kind enough to show Sanders hasn't even been the most influential element of this primary cycle. There are a number of things this primary season I would say have been more influential than Sanders as well.
That is a big point the op was making with respect to promoting the Sanders campaign as revolutionary.

(2,778 posts)nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)Oh wait, I think I know why... and it is not nice.
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)And it's getting uglier all the time.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)BLM did not endorse HRC, they did not endorse Bernie, though they do prefer his plans. Ergo, we conveniently suppress the present, It is ugly
It does not shock me or surprise me. I expected this, In fact, we are far from hitting bottom
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)A good man who fought for us for decades and millions of supporters have been branded as racist, sexist and even compared to Nazis.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)I have been called all kinds of things as well, and so have you. And ironically I do not even support anybody openly in this race. My vote is my business.
As I said, we have yet to hit bottom.
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)it's probably the exact opposite.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)It is not me who forgot about BLM, the Fight for 15 and the ever ongoing Union strubgles for for starters. Let me add a few more

These are happening right now... wake up and smell the dang coffee m'kay
EffieBlack
(14,249 posts)and anyone who asks what the guy in the photo has done to fight for civil rights since then is shouted down and accused of all manner of race baiting . . . NOW you're demanding that, in order for photographs to be taken seriously, they must be presented as part of a comprehensive, blow-by-blow photographic essay of the entire Civil Rights Movement from its beginnings through to this morning?
That's pretty rich . . .
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)so why do you hate black lives matter? Yes, I am that blunt
EffieBlack
(14,249 posts)You haven't posted a photo from the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
Why do you hate Rosa Parks?
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)and it must be on purpose.

(39,451 posts)When people band together for a common cause to make change- they start out with one voice, and people soon join, and they grow over time.
Sometimes they start from a need:
Sometimes they start for equality:
Sometimes they are anti war:
Sometimes they are for humanity:
Sometimes they are to save the planet:
And sometimes they are the people demanding the government listen to the people:
And sometimes those people find a leader that speaks for them:
Revolutions come when there is a necessity for change. Some achieve that change slowly and some gather steam quickly...
but in the end they all make a difference.

(50,949 posts)If you want a revolution, you're going to have to do a little more than name post offices and tack amendments onto bills that say that people shouldn't do things that are already illegal.
You have to take legal bribes from Big Bank and Push the POTUS into invading a country.
