(10,751 posts)...and also a great admirer of Susan Sarandon both in and outside of the movies, I do agree with you about celebrity endorsements, they are over-rated.
I also separate the artist from their politics or their personal lives, mostly. Some cases are too egregious, it's always a matter of personal choice -- we all have things we can't stomach.
But with all that said, I am still glad when a celebrity speaks out on the issues, especially if they are well informed and a good spokesperson for whatever cause or politician they espouse. It is IMO a good example to all of us, that they care enough to speak up. This goes double if they are actively engaged in whatever cause or campaign.
