when I see 1972 referenced here, it is always about McGovern's defeat and how that same situation

might exist with a Sander's nomination...

I think that is the wrong reference...it seems to me that this election period is more of a 1972 NIXON campaign model...

and this time around there is more than one 'Nixon' in the races...
