Swing State Papers Flock to Obama, Deem Romney Unworthy of Presidency

"SNIP.............................................

Swing state papers in Colorado, Ohio, North Carolina, and Arizona (yes, Arizona is turning out to be a 2012 surprise of a swing state) endorsed President Obama this weekend. They write that Romney has no core conviction other than thinking he should be president, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning Akron Beacon Journal writes that Romney’s comments about the 47% render him unworthy of the presidency, “He either was telling the crowd what he thought it wanted to hear, or he believes what he said. Either way, the words aren’t worthy of a president.”

The swing state Colorado Durango Herald endorsed Obama for a second term, writing that Romney is not even a viable alternative and his mysterious platform consists of nothing more than nostalgia for the 1950s. Most damaging, and a sentiment shared by many editorials endorsing Obama, they write that Romney has no core conviction other than that he should be president:

The question before presidential voters is simple: Who will better serve this country for the next four years, Mitt Romney or Barack Obama? When couched in straightforward terms, the answer is clear: President Obama should be re-elected.

Unfortunately, the Republican Party has offered no credible alternative. Its platform consists of little more than nostalgia for the 1950s, and its presidential candidate largely remains a mystery. Romney has publicly demonstrated no core convictions beyond his obvious belief that he should be president. He apparently thinks that simply not being Obama is qualification enough. It is not.

2. 2011 Article "Multiple Mitts" Romney lied and shape shifted all his life

The article focuses on the former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. The article highlights Romney's contradictory positions on a range of issues, particularly his opposition to the national Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 when he enacted similar healthcare reform in Massachusetts. Romney's contradictory record and statements on taxes, abortion, and same-sex marriage, among other issues, are examined......

but the overall impact will be minimal. I don't think newspaper endorsements hold nearly the sway they did even eight or twelve years ago.

Either way it's good to hear. I really liked the SLT's endorsement of Obama.

Even if I didn't agree with whatever Romney's positions are, I would expect our President to have some core convictiions to at least guide him or her. That is what is so frightening about Romney, his opinions could be swayed and paid for by the highest bidder. W need a leader, not an empty vessel.

An NPR swegment, this morning, talked about these endorsements. They mentioned 6 endorsements ... 5 papers endorsing romney and one that endorsed President Obama (with money quotes). Oddly absent was the endorsement of President Obama from the Salt Lake Tribune.

After all the flip flops and lies Romney has told, you would have to be delusional to vote for him. If people believe Romney will create a job for them after getting the Presidency, they are delusional. Now how many women will be working on the construction of Romney's Oil pipeline? So where is he building this pipeline through? So that is not going to disrupt our landscape? So he proposes to reduce all our Public lands to Oil pipelines? I don't even think Teddy Roosevelt would go for that.

Romney proposes to give all the soccer moms and waitresses instant jobs. Do they actually believe Romney? What he will actually do is cut his taxes. He will cut all the Billionaires and millionaires taxes. He don't care about the 47%. He will cut the safety net and tell you that you are on your own. Romney don't want workers, he wants to reduce the 47% to peasants. If you don't vote against President Obama, we will cut your job. That is the definition of a peasant. You depend on your over lord.

14. But Dems Need to Convince Voters. $2T+ military spending

The Newspaper editors are informed enough to see what's wrong with Romney's proposals but the same is not true of the ordinary voters.

The DNC need to focus on clear issues that differentiate Obama from Romney. Romney wants to increase military spending by $2T. I bet most voters don't want this. This should be a major focus of advertising.

Also Romney was governor of Massachusetts yet he is not carrying the state. If he is so great why not? The DNC should be pounding this simple argument into those confused undecided voters.

Pass this on to the DNC.
