(24,010 posts)That was my first reaction.
Thinking it over, the support for Trump is worrisome. Sanders beats him with both the Navy and the Air Force, but Trump beats Sanders in the other services.
And Sanders beats Clinton in every service!
One thought I have is that no one takes war more seriously than soldiers. No one hates war more than soldiers. And soldiers would most likely hate UNNECESSARY wars with a special hatred.
Sanders voted against the war on Iraq. Clinton voted for it.
Also, Trump has spoken against that war, and, though I don't pay much attention to what he says, I have the impression that he is generally against 'foreign adventures.'
They sure don't like Clinton in the armed forces.
Do you think that soldiers, generally, are well informed enough to know who her advisers are (Henry Fucking Kissinger! And Robert Kagan, architect of Bush, Cheney & Rumsfeld's blueprint for dominating the Middle East--the Project for a New American Century!)? Would they be aware that she is the neo-con candidate (as well as being Wall Street's candidate)?
Anyway, fascinating!
