Character assassination is not ok.

This is not related directly to those on DU, merely my commentary on my twitter experience indirectly related to the campaign.

Said twitter person is a very enthusiastic Bernie supporter and went after a Hillary supporter then proceeds to lambast some things that have been created by said person. They go so far as to making accusations towards their sexual orientation. I merely mention confusion then ask where that info came from and some proceed to block me, either mistaking me for a troll or being oversensitive. Truly, I just wanted to know.

Is this just Twitter behavior or the general misunderstanding that comes from lack of speech intonations on the internet? I know most Bernie supporters aren't like this but for those that are that you know, PLEASE talk to them. Criticizing the candidate or surrogate with fair attacks based on evidence is fine but going to character assassinations via questioning their sexual orientation is unacceptable.
I mean both the Bernie and Hillary side, knock it off! This goes for Bernie and Hillary supporters on Twitter and DU.

I've already made it clear who I support.

Feel free to share your thoughts.

People are behaving like deranged sports fans, name-calling and parsing these candidates' words to discredit them without any regard for the general election. I think as time goes on, each candidates' supporters have grown increasingly intolerant of the other candidate. They want the damn contest to be over so we can face and defeat the Republican, and it's understandable. It's a long, long contest, and the candidates are throwing everything they can at this contest in an effort to succeed.

It would've been nice to hear testimony of them coming out of the closet. Also, I don't see the relevance of questioning their sexual orientation in the race.
As a member of the GLBT community and a Bernie supporter, we're supposed to be the big inclusive ones. I say this especially with how strongly Bernie has stood behind the Muslim community.
Additionally, to the Democrats as a whole, it's called the big tent party for a reason(Hillary supporters included on big tent). That goes for most independents and Greens as well I believe.

Wrong to attack supporters and personal attacks on anyone. Including calling people old, ugly, names, stuff like that.
However I will say this, and I have done it.
It's easy to contradict Hillary. It really is on uh most issues because she's been on the other side of those issues.
And Twitter is very easy to show someone something.I have done this. Now are those personal attacks on Hillary?

I don't think so, if it's accurate. And same for Bernie, if it's accurate. I don't think it's personal. It's information.
If it's false information, easy to find the proof real quick through some research.

We shouldn't have to hide information about any candidate and get mad when we see it if it's true.
You either accept it, or don't. Most people don't because it feels personal. Because we believe in our candidates, right?
It's very complicated human feely stuff.
Just remember Mr. Rogers. I don't every time. Just earlier went off on some post on here because something got to me.
But it shouldn't have.

Remember Mr. Rogers. I try, doesn't work always but it helps.

I was a music student at the University of Pittsburgh, and we went to the TV station for an advanced music in media course. He was every bit as wonderful a man in person as he was on TV. He exuded warmth and kindness, and really made us feel welcome in the studio. Such a special guy.

It was the fact they mentioned a surrogate's sexual orientation and didn't provide info of the proof. Additionally I don't see the point of this when it's suppose to be about the issues. I don't see where someone's sexual orientation or even gender identity plays into it.
