2016 Postmortem

Posting silly tabloid quotes as authoritative political wisdom is embarrassingly lame. Just sayin.

The Times loves process stories. Transcripts are a classic example of a never-ending process story.

With plenty of Bernie supporters praising the Scabby one in each.
Meanwhile, last week they threw Maddow under the bus.
That's reality.

(45,319 posts)I tuned in to see the show just once, to find out who his sidekicks were. Some DU moderates post about that show almost daily and I have often commented that Joe's ratings are so low that it's a waste of time mulling what he says.....
The Daily News endorsed Mitt Romney over Obama in 2012. Cite them as you wish. They call the President 'Bam' and they say 'Get a Grip, Bam!' and that sort of thing. I do not care for that sort of thing. Do you? Bam? Really?

Renew Deal
(81,928 posts)Is that all you think about when you see Hillary? Do you see her gender as an accomplishment?
northernsouthern
(1,511 posts)I implied she had no accomplishments and merely was the last on board of any issue, but you chose to focus on her gender. That was 1/3 of my post that you focused in on. Is that all you think others think about with Hillary? Why would you even imply gender as an accomplishment? You are hung up on her gender. I on the other hand thought you were talking about an accomplished politician that was "like" Hillary as you said it, and I was not sure what the like was...since Bernie is accomplished, but you were against him by the tone of your first post it couldn't have to do with party affiliation, and Hillary is white and has white or graying hair so that is also like Bernie, height is far too specific a detail, but a female politician that could break the glass ceiling would be great, so I guess I figured you were implying that aspect of her...so I figured you were talking about Warren, Turner, Gabbard, etc. I was just wondering which one you were endorsing?
Sorry if I thought you were talking about a female, who was this politician "like" Hillary, but with accomplishments?
Renew Deal
(81,928 posts)You entered gender into the discussion.

Wait I need to vote for that person.
A choice between an accomplished person like Hillary
You are saying there is an accomplished person that is like Hillary? So I can vote for a female president but they will be accomplished instead of Johnny Come Lately to the senate as Hillary is?
And you only saw the part not in bold? You zeroed in on her sex? You don't seem to have an issue that you were saying she did not have experience? Why are you so infatuated by it? Plus you still have not told me who this candidate "like" Hillary Clinton was? Why do you keep dodging the question? What are you trying to hide? Is it Cruz you were going to say was like Hillary?
Renew Deal
(81,928 posts)why?
northernsouthern
(1,511 posts)Why did I bring up that you seem obsessed with Hillary's gender? Because I was not sure if it was a healthy obsession. Also why did you not deny the Cruz line? Are you referring to him instead?

You said: You are saying there is an accomplished person that is like Hillary? So I can vote for a female president but they will be accomplished instead of Johnny Come Lately to the senate as Hillary is?
Why does her gender stand out to you enough to bring it up?

You are right I did not notice that you said the person was like Hillary but accomplished and a fantasist...
Is that why you are hinting at Cruz? I am not sure if you are on the correct forum, this is the DNC, the closest we get to republican is the third way.

(1,511 posts)The NYDN, they are a well respected newspaper right? A very non-biased source? I have not heard of them yet.
So if I am understanding you correctly you are saying Bernie is the candidate with accomplishments that is also "fantasist" like Hillary?
Renew Deal
(81,928 posts)On April 19, New York Democrats will have unusual say over the partys nominee. They have in Clinton a superprepared warrior realist. They have in opponent Bernie Sanders a fantasist whos at passionate war with reality.

(146,366 posts)The answer is: Nobody. It is a New York City tabloid. It publishes what it chooses to publish, just like most newspapers.
It endorsed Hillary Clinton. Other papers have done the same. That is their prerogative. Any newspaper can endorse anyone it chooses.
The NY Daily News is not, in any way, a "paper of record." The only one using that phrase is you. It is just another newspaper.
