2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe Clintons Got $3.4M In Fees From Keystone Investors. She's now against it, but what is she doing?
During this period, then-Sec. of State Hillary Clinton made critical decisions related to the Keystone XL pipelines advancement. Hillarys "critical decisions" amounted to putting off any decision on the Keystone Pipeline. Which is something the environmentalists could not understand. But delaying the decision allowed Bill and eventually Hillary herself, as well as the rest of the Democrats, to continue to collect donations from both sides of the issue for as long as possible. Which is something Hillary then did in spades.
Her $1.6 million added to Bills $1.8 million means that Keystone Pipeline investors put at least $3.4 million dollars right into the pockets of the Clintons. (And not their foundation.)

(344 posts)1) 1992: The Commodity Trades
During Bill Clinton's first run for the White House, his campaign declined to release all of the couple's tax returns. Later it emerged that the campaign had weighed requests from the press and decided not to do so, because a few of the returns showed Hillary Clinton's spectacular success in commodities trading, in which she made almost $100,000 from an initial investment of $1,000 in a matter of months for a return of almost 10,000 percent. Hillary Clinton threatened a campaign lawyer who had access to the material with retribution if she released the data: "You'll never work in Democratic politics again," the lawyer, Loretta Lynch, says Clinton told her. It wasn't until 1994, as the New York Times prepared to publish an article detailing the trades, that the Clintons made public the returns.

Anyway it would be so cool if someone streaked across the stage with a sandwich board asking the question about Hillary and the fracking dough!

(1,054 posts)picking a side but have at least one anti sanders article there - it was on him not discussing his foreign policys so they don't trust him. They don't mention the name Clinton in the article or in any recent articles on their site that I can see. Definitely don't want to tick off their donors.
