Sanders has a finely-honed shtick; lots of agitation, hand-waving, and angry pontificating. Lots of problem identification but little in the way of problem-solving.
This shtick appeals to those who have already gathered behind him, but if Sanders is to have a chance at the nomination, he needs to win delegate-rich states by sizable margins. To have a chance at that, he needs to broaden his appeal beyond that mostly white, mostly millennial base.
That didn't happen tonight, and if it didn't happen tonight, then the needle didn't move at all on his chances to New York and the nomination.

(587 posts)you're predicting a big win for Sanders in NY, and big wins the following week in PA, CT, RI, DE, MD?
And it that does not come to pass, will you agree that Sanders made a mistake in not appealing to groups beyond young white people and should retire from the race?
