'The primary is over. There is no path, and there is no math,' says a Florida Democrat.
Democrats have a message for Bernie Sanders: Shut it down before the July national convention in Philadelphia.
Thats according to The POLITICO Caucus a panel of activists, strategists and operatives in 10 key battleground states who worried a protracted post-primary clash for the nomination could hurt Hillary Clinton, the partys likely nominee, in their states in the general election.

Not casting a vote is a waste. how you cast your vote=your voice is never wasted.
Besides, many believe that there is no way hills will will in November. They may even consider voting for her to be a wasted action.

Anything can be investigated and I would remind you that both Rice and Powell had a private server...this is rightwing bullshit reserved for Democrats. It is over so either help us beat the GOP in the fall or head down to Free Republic and help Trump as you are threatening. Your choice but if you are committed to change as you say, you would not help the Republicans who having all the branches of government will destroy any revolution. Have you ever considered what will happen to LGBT if the GOP gets in...do you ever think about the big picture? There are women who are gay, look gay in Carolina being arrested for going to the bathroom...taken to the station and strip-searched. There are more important things than Bernie Sanders...he lost. Time to move on and do what is best for the country.

(3,457 posts)The state department watchdog found that both Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, Americas top diplomats under president George W Bush, were sent sensitive national security information to nongovernment email addresses.
...Georgia Godfrey, Rices chief of staff at Stanford Universitys Hoover Institution, said the former secretary of state did not use email while in the job nor have a personal email account. It was her understanding that the emails in question were sent to Rices assistant, reporting diplomatic conversations and they contained no intelligence information.
....Powell has previously said the state department was technologically backward when he joined in 2001 and that he had to fight to get an internet-connected computer installed in his office, from which he continued to use his personal email account.

(45,319 posts)I disagree with Sen. Obamas assertion that people in our country cling to guns and have certain attitudes about trade and immigration simply out of frustration. You know, my dad took me out behind the cottage that my grandfather built on a little lake called Lake Winola outside of Scranton and taught me how to shoot when I was a little girl. You know, some people now continue to teach their children and their grandchildren. Its part of culture. Its part of a way of life. People enjoy hunting and shooting because its an important part of who they are. Not because they are bitter.

It's pretty outrageous that these "insiders" don't mind taking away the voters' chance to participate simply for their own convenience. The hell with that. Those "insiders" need to be on a list to vote OUT next time.

(1,701 posts)disregards the fact that many people have not voted yet. If they want us to rally around Clinton if she wins (which, by the way, she has not done yet) stop telling those of us who haven't voted yet that we don't count. That is not the way to win us over.
I am sick of this attitude. The last time I checked, Oregon and California were still part of the USA. If we are not, it would be nice to let us know.
There have been innumerable threads trashing Bernie and his supporters for his accurate observation that the South is conservative and votes Republican. It would be nice if Clinton supporters had the same regard for the voters of other states. Somehow, our right to participate in the process of choosing our candidate is seen as unimportant and not worth defending.
Go California! Go Oregon! And go every other state whose residents have not had the chance to vote yet! I was under the impression that there are primaries next week in a number of states, including Pennsylvania. Does that large state not count either?

She is damaged and lacks support throughout the country and is extremely disliked. The only thing she has going for her is that Trump is disliked more. But I won't vote for either of them. I'll vote third party.

Bernie already has built a base of support that will not go away because of this election. It is more important in the overall scheme of things for him to make sure this base he has built remains standing and continues to work on the planks in Sanders' platform. People are already discussing this, and I think it will be a new political world going forward since he has launched this campaign.
As far as the Democratic party, and the DNC itself, there is no interest in promoting its Third Way element. We are the FDR Democrats, not the Third Way Democrats, and we will be working to preserve true Democratic values.

Okay, well, every minute she's got Bernie Sanders up there as the supposedly wacky, far-off-to-the-left, impractical representation of all that "the middle" won't vote for, she can define herself by opposition as the candidate who is reasonable, moderate, sensible, incremental, practical....
