Related: About this forumHillary (or Trump) a one term President?
Divisive front-runners Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton battling ever-growing unpopularity, strong resistance from within their own parties, partisan stonewalling and even age may already be doomed to a one-term presidency, pundits say.
Ill admit that Trump and Clinton superficially have one-termer written all over them, said Larry Sabato of the University of Virginias Center for Politics.
Trump and Clinton have high unfavorables and 100 percent name identification. Theres not much room to turn your image around, or at least its very difficult.
If the voters dont like you, theyre apt to blame you for all the bad things that happen in your term.
Trump and Clinton are some of the most unpopular front-runners in recent history and an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll earlier this week showed their image suffering even more as the election drags on.
Clinton is viewed positively by just 32 percent of Americans and negatively by 56 percent, according to the poll. Trumps positives are at just 24 percent, compared to 65 percent negative.
