2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumJames Murdoch of Fox and Chris Ruddy of NewsMax are major donors to the Clinton Foundation
Both are on the Clinton Foundation website as donors in the range of $1 million to $5 million. As far as I'm concerned, that makes Fox and NewsMax appropriate sources of information for DU on issues relating to the Clintons. If not, tell the Clintons to give the money back, along with all the money they've taken from crooked scumbags like Frank Giustra and foreign despots.
You made your bed Hillary supporters. Now lie in it.

(18,628 posts)I imagine they donated to United Way as well. Does that mean those are right wing charities?
The Clinton Foundation does great things around the world, including climate change education and women's rights. For you to assume donations are exchanged for political favor is ridiculous.
Between the Clinton Global Initiative and this foundation the Clintons are making a difference in the world. Others who only pay lip service at a podium should follow their example.

(6,474 posts)This beating up of Presidential Foundations is getting a little on the lunatic side. They probably donated in response to Haiti a joint enterprise with President H.W. Bush (horror I know). Oh gosh, did you hear that Barack H. Obama has a Presidential Foundation already and he's going to likely concentrate on pouring money into minority neighborhoods. We must stop rich people from donating their own money for charitable projects to help the poor in the United States and across the globe. Stop Them! Stop them now!

And yes, that is what MOST of the country thinks is going on and why we think CORRUPTION is such a serious concern.
ON EDIT: Google "Clinton Foundation" and "Haiti" -- it's documented.

(18,628 posts)Do you really think people who donate to charities do it to get kick backs? Maybe people who donate to museums get DaVincis to hang in their dens or donors to cancer foundations get guarantees that they won't be afflicted, but I don't think so.
The Clintons raising money for the global good should be praised, not derided as a political tool.
You're just Berning up with primary fever and think you see a snake hiding under every rock. I'm sure you weren't outraged about Clinton fundraising two years ago.

(10,559 posts)And yes, I do think that countries that "donated" via Canada and weren't disclosed that then received arms deals from Clinton's State Department weren't doing it for "charitable reasons".
JohnnyRingo
(18,628 posts)as is the Clinton Global initiative. The Clintons don't line their pockets with donations. That's why the sites end in dot org.

The Clinton Foundation admitted Sunday that it had "made mistakes" on its tax forms and "will likely refile forms for some years."

Canadian Partnership Shielded Identities of Donors to Clinton Foundation

Aides to former President Bill Clinton helped start a Canadian charity that effectively shielded the identities of donors who gave more than $33 million that went to his foundation, despite a pledge of transparency when Hillary Rodham Clinton became Secretary of State.

You get the idea. Two billion dollars that has "disappeared". Totally innocent.

(18,628 posts)They never stay focused on any one thing when the next eye popping theory emerges.
By next week this will be old news and even you will move along to the next big "scandal". The reason is that the very nature of those who want to confirm their belief systems is to grasp at any straw.
No one cares about this nonsense on Clinton charities and it won't hurt her a whit in the election. There's nothing there but wisps of partisan vapor. You'll see next week when you're frothing at the latest outrage from the Republicans/Bernie Camp.

(6,474 posts)there are no shareholders and no assets are owned, or can be transferred by the Clintons either by gift or devise. Has there ever been such partisan attack on any of the other Presidential Foundations in this Country. Sanders supporters have simply co-opted a right-wing talking point with no logical explanation how Bill Clinton' Foundation affected Hillary Clinton's performance of her duties. Have the same people concerned with Fortune 500 donations to the Clinton Foundation ever raised an issue of those same Fortune 500 company's donations to the Reagan Foundation, the Bush Foundations or even the Obama Foundation?
