(3,040 posts)Understand the difference between a criminal investigation and a civil law suit...? Because Hillary is involved in both, and the 'indictment fairy' has nothing to do with the forthcoming deposition and any liability right? Because the FBI has nothing to do with what will happen in the civil suit.
realmirage
(2,117 posts)means she's going to get the death penalty. This INTERVIEW will turn up nothing, as everyone knows. But you don't really think there's any story here either because now you're counting on a civil lawsuit that doesn't mean shit either.
Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)I am an attorney, and the FBI "interview" has nothing to do with the deposition. But, thanks for trying.
And, what concerns me is that since the deposition is on the record and the plaintiff is a hardcore right wing organizations, everything she says will be gone over with a 'fine tooth comb' and if they find that there is a misspoke 'is' there will be an impeachment if she is president for perjury like her husband.

(2,117 posts)We've been hearing these bullshit schemes for decades, and the clintons are still not in jail for even spitting on the sidewalk, which will be next when the phony email "scandal" fails and fades away with the Vince foster story.
If you're an attorney, I'm surprised you don't see through all this bullshit.
Losing is tough, accept it with some dignity. Hillary is the next pres
Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)Since I was 18. Also, the civil suit doesn't have to do with the subject of the emails or if she violated any criminal laws. Rather, it has to do with the fact that Clinton may or may not have violated the freedom of information act when she failed to provide all the information requested by the plaintiff.
But, don't let the facts get in the way of you trying to call me a Republican to hide the fact you don't know what you are taking about.

(1,729 posts)I honestly am beginning to think that 90% of the reason I like her is because of how many smears she's manage to survive. I figure anyone that gets hammered with bogus crap for that long deserves a cake in the shape of the oval office.

(934 posts)is against the State Department, not Hillary Clinton. Their complaint is against State.
CNN reported earlier this week that there was a finding of no criminal wrongdoing (or any other kind of "wrongdoing" by SOS Clinton in the FBI investigation. You don't follow these things too closely do you?
Oh, and you can tell Jane that the Magical Indictment Fairy won't be knock, knock, knocking on Clinton's door. Maybe that fairy will have better luck with...Casa Blanca....foreign donations...junkets on chartered Delta 767 jets (paid for by 18.000 $27 donations) to pretend meetings with the Pope...or family on the payroll. No wonder Jane wants the FEC to stall their investigation until after June.
If you're progressive, why do you align with the right wing?
Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)Of being right wing because I merely raise legitimate concerns. And you are referring to the criminal investigation, when I was talking about the civil trial. Do you understand the difference? Or are you intentionally obfuscating the matter at hand?

(443 posts)If they do understand then they are just trying to make a false statement that in big picture has zero bearing on anyone's vote. So only reason I can think of is that they some how just need to mislead people with this false number for some type of personal gain.

(2,331 posts)After Bernie has ran a campaign trashing party insiders for the past 12 months, his only path to victory is to get party insiders to support him.
I'm ok with abolishing super delegates. I think the concept is stupid, but you can't actually believe people Bernie has trashed are going to run into his arms when he has lost the popular vote and pledged delegate metrics.
Even if the indictment fairy comes, the more likely outcome is Joe Biden than Sanders.

That's a meaningless distinction. We know how the pledged delegates will vote, and we know how the superdelegates will vote. They're not going to change their minds now.

There goes your "contested contest"...whatever that might mean in Sanders-speak.

(521 posts)The final pledge tally was:
Obama = 1,794 1/2
Clinton = 1,732 1/2
(just a 62-delegate difference)
The magic number then was 2,117 delegates, so neither Obama nor Clinton had enough pledged delegates to clinch the nomination outright, but most of the superdelegates supported him, and their numbers helped cross him over the required amount. That night, all major news organizations announced that Obama had clinched the Democratic nomination and called him 'the presumptive nominee.' Then, four days later, Clinton conceded and vowed to endorse and support Obama.
I believe the same thing will happen after June 7. Clinton will get within spitting distance of the threshold, and her massive superdelegate support will help her clinch the nod right then and there, no matter what the Sanders supporters think. All the news programs will start calling her the presumptive nominee, too.
Not so sure about Sanders, though. The classy thing would be for him to follow Clinton's suit in 2008. Most Democratic also-rans would do the same. But Sanders is a loose cannon and until the past year not a member of the party (i.e. no loyalty), so I have no idea what his end game plan is or if he will bow out gracefully or continue to cause trouble for the Democrats into the convention and beyond.

(5,614 posts)I'll look in on you guys next year and see how you like how it all turns out.
Its sort of moot for me anyway. I'll be 71 in September and the odds are this is my last Presidential election. My hope is that Her Highness will not bargain away Social Security or Medicare while my wife and I are still alive. I guess there is no hope that the TPP will not be signed. Also hope that nobody finds a way to funnel more taxpayer money to Goldman-Sachs and that no more Honduras poets will be assassinated by the government Her Highness shored up.
I also hope that nobody decides to use cluster bombs in the first term, and that we don't have 10,000 troops in Libya, another 10,000 in Syria and maybe 50,000 in Iraq.
It'd be nice if Flint wasn't forgotten in the first hundred days and that the costs of fracking isn't going to be subsidized by the Federal Government.
There's plenty to look forward to because, after all, it's Her turn.
