Related: About this forumCan anyone suggest a good alternative to Huffington Post? I used to love it, but it has become way
too mainstream, too much like CNN.

(2,593 posts)I used to read both daily, but they have both become less appealing as of late. Maybe The Daily Beast more so. They've really invested in the "false equivalency/both sides are equally right" model of journalism.

(21 posts)I just loaded Mother Jones. Two of the articles are entitled, "Is the Junk Food Industry Buying the WHO?" and "Big Sugar's Little Lies." Fuck off. Being liberal doesn't mean being a stuck up mind control nazi that hates fun.
Huffington Post is not a bad alternative to CNN's BS. I don't always want to hear this singing to the choir crap without any level of self-criticism. It's not always useful.

(3,867 posts)And while Mother Jones is good I agree with the "Being liberal doesn't mean being a stuck up mind control nazi that hates fun" sentiment. It get's taken too far and liberalism is made into a caricature of what most really stand for.
I blame Al Gore.

(1,117 posts)I actually enjoy looking at all sources of news whether they be right or left leaning. You can't fight them if you don't know what they are talking about. I guess I just don't like being in a bubble.
