Nader!
Apparently the smear goes:
Sanders running for president -> in second place -> hurts Hillary somehow -> President Trump. Thanks, Nader 2.0.
As Dean himself just said in an interview, Sanders did the democrats a massive favor by running as a democrat so that he is NOT the spoiler. Beyond that, this is still the primary. He's in second, but it's a close second. If Hillary is really as experienced/ready/vetted as people say she is, I'm pretty sure she'll be fine. If she can't hack it, an early bow out by Bernie won't help. Like that time Dubya royally fucked up everything and also oopsed up into a war, but Kerry lost to him anyway without any subterfuge from the likes of other also-rans.
Relax. Breathe. Don't be so insecure about your candidate that you need to refight battles from 16 years ago.

(19,926 posts)What would be happening to the Dem Party now if Hillary had wrapped up the nom a couple months ago? Let's face it, O'Malley would have done a lot better but I don't think he would have pulled off what Bernie has.
There would have been no more debates, no more "controversy", no one would be talking about the Dems at all.
More importantly Sanders did the PEOPLE a YUUUUUUUUUUUGE favor because what issues would have been talked about had he not run. That's WHY he ran, to get things talked about that need discussion.
And anyone who wants him to drop out now, or earlier, does not believe in democracy. Hillary most likely won't wrap up the nom before the convention either, so why would he drop out? Why should the people of the late voting states not have a say in anything? Going to a contested convention is not just about deciding a winner, it's about setting the Democratic Party platform. Thank dog we have someone like Bernie care enough to get out there and face the endless smears in order to represent the people. With the massive support he has his voice - OUR voice must be heard. If it isn't, and if the DNC keeps up their despicable biased protect the establishment behavior, they can kiss half the party goodbye.
