On one side, he's a Mormon. The Christian right ain't gonna like that --- they may stay home.

On the other side, the lunatic religious cabal which controls the party have put women's issues front and center, with no apparent end in sight. The women of America are becoming mightily pissed off about this. He can't win without the women.

So it almost has to be a woman running mate.

Who?

I don't think one can satisfy one side of this equation without screwing up the other side.

Pick Sarah Palin, I miss being entertained by her. Sure she isn't quite as scary as Michele Bachman, but she is just as stupid. Also, I am not sure but I would guess men find her more attractive, especially since she needs help loading a gun.

There's a lot of, at best, ambivalence towards Santorum, which surprises me. They were much more excited about Newt around the time of SC.

Something to do with big government and earmarking, I think.

Perhaps their purity test is now so stringent that the only person who can pass it is a thrice-married Washington lobbyist who wants to build a moonbase.

Mittens probably needs to go with a minority or a woman.

Can he pick cat on broom (the witch)?

Her views on sex are just as batshit as Tricky Ricky and she will satisfy the base and put the token female on the ticket.

Results-- Democratic landslide.
